Very nice restaurant. Nice outdoor eating area. Perfect for an evening meal in the summer. I strongly suggest the Southern Fried Chicken. If I could give six stars I would.

Elysian looks like an old cafe that has a lot of charm. My boyfriend has been living nearby for about four months and we finally got the chance to try it out after all that time. We came in on a beautiful, sunny and warm Saturday at about 1 pm for brunch. The wait for an outside table was only 15 minutes. We were seated pretty quickly and they took our drink and food orders swiftly as well. The drinks came out shortly after, but our food was nowhere to be seen until about a half an hour later. People who were seated after us, got their food before us. I think it was a fluke (I hope). I'd definitely be willing to give it another chance because I really enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich (with bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, herb mayo, and French fries) when I did finally get it. Plus, it's relatively inexpensive. For $13, you can get a plate of steak and eggs with home fries and toast. Hoping it'll be a better experience next time. Not sure I want to unleash the inner Hulk that takes over when I get hungry.

I was torn between 2 stars and 3. We were seated right away. The outdoor seating is tight. The table far too small to be comfortable. The menu is small which is actually not a bad thing. So I ordered a Steak Salad and asked that they do not put pecans in it. I despise nuts in salad. I think it's absolutely disgusting. We also got a calamari salad to share. I honestly have no idea what my buddy got because whatever it was was unrecognizable. First out was the calamari salad. It wasn't bad. But honestly it wasn't really good either. So next was my Steak Salad. Remember? the one I specifically asked for no pecans. Not only was there pecans I feel like they put on extra pecans. The steak was dry. Absolutely no taste. I had to ask the waiter for salt and pepper because I'm pretty sure they don't use any when cooking. Back to the pecans. Did I mention how much I hate nuts in my salad? What if it was more then just my dislike of them? What if I had a nut allergy? Needless to say I picked the meat out of my salad and left the greens. The staff was good. No complaints about my server. All and all there were many interesting things on the menu but all of the things had a quirky twist like pecans or just weird stuff. Maybe it's just me but I eat out alot in my business and this place really wasn't that good at all.

Beautiful atmosphere. The food was good with generous portions. The service was pretty good. Our server was busy but did not neglect us.
