The best old fashioned hardware store around. And it has a full service pharmacy attached. All one big happy family owned and operated by two brothers

Good energy, helpful and unpretentious,  and not the slightest hint of racism, which what you usually get in Alameda.

The real bonus is the advice you get - they will advise you on how to solve your problem, thereby saving the expense of calling a contractor.  Shop local and support independent retailers who really  know their stuff and stock what you need.

Great option if you live nearby and will be a regular, but otherwise the pricing and long lines and general chaos of a smaller local hardware store might be a bit much compared to the reliable yet crappy Home Depot over the bridge in Oakland.
