I really wish that I could award more stars. The veterinarians are knowledgeable and attentive to the animals, but gruff with the humans. The non-veterinary staff are kind and caring. Every-other Saturday hours, very reasonable boarding fees, and extra willingness to squeeze in emergencies keep us going back.

I will never go back. I went there 3 times for my kitten's first 3 vaccines and my 1st and 3rd visits were absolutely horrible. I thought it couldn't get any worse than the first visit when there was a brand new assistant who didn't know what she was doing or how to restrain a 2lb kitten. But I was wrong. My 3rd visit was 10 times worse. I left in tears. The doctor took the kitten from the assistant, who was in training, because he didn't like the way she was restraining the kitten. He took the kitten and was completely choking him. I've never seen a cat turn purple. He wasn't meowing because he couldn't breathe but his mouth was wide open and his nose, lips, and tongue were PURPLE. I asked the doctor to please let go of him because he wasn't breathing, and he said no. I have had cats my whole life but never in 33 years have I seen a vet have to physically choke a 4lb kitten until he is not breathing and turning purple! And I completely understand that kittens/cats don't like getting shots and they may scream in their loudest meow, but this was much worse. I also have never felt the need to intervene with the vet when my animals have gone to see them, even though sometimes it is painful because of how loud they can meow. But today, I had to. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else.

Doctor knows what he is doing. Can come off as a little bit gruff.

Updated 6.2.14: We've been using Endicott Animal Hospital since my previous review. We've added a former foster cat to our home after my other cat passed on. We've been seeing both Dr. W and Dr. Sickles who is new at the practice. Overall, still very positive experiences. The Drs, the desk staff, and the techs all treat our animals and ourselves with respect. We've had to make multiple trips out due to the newest cat having a urinary block issue. Dr W got Henry in that morning and by the afternoon we knew he'd be in overnight. The bill was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, primarily because he ended up not needing surgery. I still recommend them to everyone I meet who is looking for a vet. Previous review: Dr. W and his staff are fantastic, knowledgeable and don't pull any punches. I have two dogs, an elderly cat and my housemates have two cats and chickens. Dr W has looked over and cared for all our critters - even the guinea fowl that my dogs thought were toys (and aren't). Even though he's been very upfront about what he does and doesn't know about the fowl, he's cared for the bird calmly and patiently (and she seems to be making a good recovery more than a week after the accident). I really recommend this vet and haven't had any issues with them - Dr. W used to be very gruff but I think it had a lot to do with how little I *knew* about taking care of pets. He's really there for the animals, not my feelings (and since I'm paying them to take care of my pets and not my feelings, I'm okay with that) - but that said, he's still fantastic and has gotten less gruff over the years.
