UPDATE: The following morning after posting this review, my husband had called to discuss the roof again, after getting home from work that Monday evening, even after talking with Vince, he was not happy with the finished product. He received a call around 11:30 to meet with Vince that day at 4. We met and were told that what he chose to do was our only option really. Fine. So we discussed how we could make the metal securing strip look better and agreed to cover it with the drip edge. There were really no options given on how to make the industrial white plastic membrane "blend" in with the rest of the roof. We also discussed the gutters and downspouts. I'm still unimpressed again for what we were charged vs what we got. We were also given "excuses" as to why the downspouts didn't go all the way to the ground. Because our Brick has a ledge (typical of homes) we were told that it would get in the way of the downspout. At that point, I just felt like for whatever reason they just didn't want to put them in. We also discussed the area that didn't get gutters but is the biggest area for run off. There seemed to be a bit of resistance met with "well, I'm not sure how we'd do it there". I said if you met it up with the current gutter, it'd give enough pitch to wrap around and bring it down with a downspout. Again, met with resistance to do the downspout. Yesterday I got home and the Drip Edge was added and helps give a more finished look, but the gutter attached on the west fascia isn't pitched correctly. It sits higher at the corner. (New pictures) Either way, I'm done dealing with them. If I had known this was the "quality" of work we'd receive, I'd have continued to look for someone else. Maybe I have been spoiled throughout my life with high end contractors for a father and uncles and so I expect more? But despite that, shouldn't everyone get a quality finished product when paying for a service? ****************************************** We were new to town and needed our roof replaced and we decided to use Energy Construction after a couple bids. If I knew now (yep, it's one of those experiences) what I didn't know at the time of choosing them, we'd have looked elsewhere. The roof is now "complete". The shingled part looks great. Except for this part where two slopes form a valley, it is an ugly white plastic that looks ghetto and unfinished. It is in fact "finished". Supposedly this was the only way they could finish it to keep that area of the roof from leaking. Nothing was discussed with us as far as options on how to complete this section, it was just done. I thought that's what flashing was for, but I guess not. So, there's that. It would have been nice to have at least been told that's what we were getting instead of just going ahead with it. I wanted gutters on the house. The bid for gutters and downspouts came to $815. I thought that was for the whole house, nope. It only said over front entry and north side of the house, my bad for not seeing we were being taken because that's already pretty high considering a typical residential installation is 140 feet of seamless aluminum gutter with four downspouts and four corners. That will typically cost around $5.88 per foot to be professionally supplied and installed. Well, ours was only about 50 ft of gutter at the most. The math doesn't add up. Now let's talk about downspouts...a downspout is a pipe to carry the water from the roof to ground level. Ours were little 90* elbows. If we wanted an outdoor shower to use in the rain....we got it, two of them actually! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...I'm unimpressed and the high dollar gutters, to say the least, are comical and underwhelming. I come from a family of developers and builders. This kind of work would never fly and if it did, they'd be out of business. I've had a couple co-workers ask how we liked them because they are looking to have their roof's redone and all I can do is tell them about our experience. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Energy Construction.

Asked to have Ice and water shield on entire roof, they ran out and substituted and inferior material. Entire roof has the shingles set 1/4 inch back from the drip edge instead of overlapping. BTW the foreman was in jail at the time of the reroof and Vince was in Alaska. These guys need to buy a tape measure and read the directions on a stack of shingles. Unimpressed.
