I do not live in the D.C. area but I have been to this location a few times when traveling for work. The staff is always very kind and accommodating. I always browse the selection in the shop when visiting, just to see if they have anything beyond what my home gym carries. I typically have a wonderful experience, and the young ladies that work in the shop are kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my last visit wasn’t so great. The young lady working was very rude and unprofessional. I was later dismayed to find out that she was the new manager. I enjoy stopping in the shop when time permits, but I will definitely be avoiding the store if she is at the counter. You may want to reconsider having someone like that present as the face of your company. Other than this encounter, the gym is truly lovely.

For a gym that stands for elite image, it comes to be quite short in terms of customer service on all levels. Occasionally you will come across great employees, however the overall culture is poor in providing the 5 star customer service that the fees charged for the membership. The fees are raised annually and the club is mostly populated by college students with much reduced rates than full paying members. Zero customer appreciation unless you consider occasional socials that are barely attended . The hours are mostly catered to early mornings and not late as in most urban clubs and they close the showers 15-30 minutes before the club closes at times without proper notice. Any comments/ feedbacks are pretty much ignored and not sure why they even bother sending surveys. Classes are changed with no notice and many of the great yoga instructors had left. Often members need to organize and petition for a yoga class to remain. Location is convenient and theybhave a pool( the deck is poorly decorated as no one really cares.. They do have good trainers, however the fees for sessions are overpriced .The space itself is large unlike most clubs here . The cafe is great for healthy eating and that’s pretty much it. Unfortunately DC does not have great array of choices for high end gyms like NYC, LA or Chicago. The Assistant manager Amanda is quite apathetic to any clients concerns as she is the main point of contact. Would not recommended and I rarely give a low rating.

I haven’t found a lot of gyms that could compare to Equinox Sports Club. I have been doing a lot of boxing, and there isn’t a better place to do that but here. This comes highly recommended.

As one of the most expensive gyms in dc, Equinox is not honest to their customers. The sales manager told us that we could cancel the membership anytime we want when we first subscribed the membership. However, we were told we could not cancel the membership within 12 months afterwards. The sales manager or the company customer service just passed the buck everytime when we tried to solve this problem. I can't believe such an expensive gym's dishonesty just in order to boost sales. And considering such bad customer service, I would definitely not recommend this gym.

Absolutely horrendous culture of management! I was a loyal member and paid for two memberships plus lots of personal training. Developed a good relationship only to have it all blown up when I moved to San Diego - it was suggested I freeze my membership which I find out gets added to the backside of your contract - until I moved and was able to see if there was a location near me. I explained there was no location and have been billed $2000.00 since moving - the right thing to do is a retro active cancellation but no ! Amanada the assistant manager would rather quote rules and policy then have a happy member and take into account my situation. I even called corporate who then kicked it back to the same Amanada to tell me no again! They act like they could care less, cause me outright of trying to scam or get around the situation and policy! This place is unreal and I expect more customer care from such a high end facility. Do not go here!!
