Staying here really opened me up to the world of hostels! I stayed here in the end of September and had a wonderful experience! The owner was very friendly and gave us a tour of the hostel upon our arrival. I fell in love with the energy of the place, and the whole concept that you are surrounded by travelers sharing amazing stories. As a result of the experience I had here, I now work at a hostel in the town I live in ☺

In all my experiences, from California, Arizona, Oregon, Alaska and now back to Oregon, somethings stand out more than others: The Eugene Whiteaker International Hostel. I found peace, relaxation and great people here, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to everyone. Wish I could stay longer to get to know everybody more!

The Whiteaker Hostel has been my go to place to stay in Eugene for several years now. Mack and the staff are always gracious hosts, and the rooms are always comfortable and clean. It's so much nicer to talk and mingle with other residents, which is something you don't get the opportunity to do in a hotel.

This is the most awful place I've ever stayed bar none. I had a roommate which is expected. However this guy was a troglodyte. He came in at 1 in the morning, turn the lights on for 40 minutes, and milled about making noise and dropping things. When I respectfully asked him how long it was process would take he answered me with sarcasm. Then in the morning I noticed ants everywhere in the bedroom and the bathroom. They got into my luggage. These are sugar ants and clearly the place was not being kept clean. Finally the band the bathroom besides the ants the shower was cold and the troglodyte had turn the light bulbs out of the sockets. Don't ever stay at this hell hole.

Intake process was a breeze followed by a tour.very good amenities. Clean kitchen and surroundings. Friendly staff and guests. Price is reasonable. Would stay again.
