I been going here since It was established in 2004 with My wife and 2 kids. Dr. Thomas Joseph himself is an amazing, kind, laid back, considerate man, his other Doctors that work out of this practice are not bad, including his Son. Where my review comes up with the one star is for those reasons alone. His billing Dept. is a joke. I had Blue Cross Blue Sheild PPO from 2004 to 2013. Then my work dropped them and Switched to Cigna PPO in January 2013. I got a call from my wife while I was at work on the North Side of Chicago and she stated that she was fed up with dealing with the front desk and Billing ladies here. I asked her why she was worried and she stated that she took our sons and herself to Evergreen Care Center and they Billed her a Co-Pay before seeing the Doctor and that she had to give them her Credit card on the visit to add to the account we had already with my Card on. She stated it was $90 with a previous balance, to Charge to her Debit/Visa just to see the Urgent Care Doc. I was shocked I told her we have NO Co-Pay for our Cigna Plan, and that I deal with HR and Benefits with my current job at work and should know first hand. I called Urgent care from my job to confirm and the Lady at the front desk said that it was correct that she charged my Wife the $25 a person for my plan. I told her my Insurance doesn't have a Co-Pay and she bounced me back to her boss who stated that it was a 3rd Party Company that researches and tells them about people's Insurance plans and they go off that. I told them I can furnish documents that I got emailed to me from Cigna myself in the prior call before them to show her the company is in error. She said she would refund me my $90 . She also stated that I can just let them keep the $90 dollars and have it as a buffer for what my bill doesn't cover. I told her No and that charging a Co-Pay where there is none on account with Insurance is misleading and Fraudulent Business act. And that IF I had a remainder on my account I would make it Paid with an answer to a bill from them after my Insurance Pays with a documented Itemized bill of Services Rendered. She told me she can write me a check and mail it to me. I told her I wanted the receipt as well. She said she would mail it to me asap. That was on a Tuesday. The following Tuesday I called for the same Asst.manager in Billing and they state that she was off for the week. I repeated my situation to another person in Billing and asked where my check was since I only lived one town away. And they stated that they needed my Wife's card to swipe back the funds and that it was not done yet because of this fact. I told her where was the call to MY cell phone to let me know of this. She stated they left a message and called already. That was an outright lie,I received no such call. I told them that they can just refund the transaction to her card without a swipe, to which the Billing Rep agreed and again I stated I want the Receipt. I called on Thursday that week again and asked if it was done. This time they connected me with the Manager of Billing, a lady that had a deep, hoarse voice sounding as if she was yelling at somebody the day before. I told her my situation to which she a replied she knew it as she cut me off, that the Receipt was sent in the mail. I confirmed with my wife via text as we spoke and her Debit/Visa Bank Account was not credited. I asked her when this happened she stated it was done Monday. Funny I just called Tuesday to get them to do it. I told her that I would be in after work and that I want a copy of it in my hand because I had to stay on top of them and that I never had to deal with this since I began going here. She replied I will have it ready at the front desk a copy from out of your file. When I got there to pick it up I spoke to the Manger of Billing and she said I was Discharged from the practice. A letter typed out by "Dr. Joseph" and signature scribbled confirmed it with my receipt. This place is all about the $$$$, no compassion, are quick to get money but not correct an error or Apologize once.

Went to the walk-in clinic; was seen in a timely manner and my needs were addressed appropriately and professionally. Thank you Dr. Johnson and staff. Felt bad going in, but better coming out😊.

Be advised that they require a debit/credit card to be kept on file prior to service and they charge the entire bill to that card after 30 days. The only problems with that is (1) they dont publicly post any fees for any of the services (2) the admins nor nurses could quote the fees and (3) they dont provide any service statements/receipts at the end of service to confirm the $$ they quoted you. You are expected to blindly sign authorization over to them to charge your card. If you require a person's card then you should, at minimum, have your list of fees publicly posted. When I asked how much the services were I was told $145 for urgent care services and $40 for a flu test. Now Im waiting to see my bill since I have an oop deductible before insurance pays anything. Their billing practices are kind of shady which cost them 2 stars with me. But other than that, staff was very friendly and accommodating. The wait time to see a doctor was very reasonable. Onsite parking lot is available.
