My husband took care of the last supper ext for 15 years, we put up the lit cross in memory of our daughter and for the community to enjoy. We maintain it and ask for nothing. We have been spending time with our children and grandchildren out of town and Evergreen has hired outside contractor to maintain the grounds. We recently came back in town and went to the top of the hill to spend time with our daughter, it was heartbreaking, lawn looked like it hasn’t been mowed in quite time, grass was so high you couldn’t see the markers, vases broken ect. So my husband went up today and mowed a good piece of the hill and now it looks a lot better. Looks like your highly paid contracts are not doing their job, perhaps hold there pay until the job is done correctly. Also the mausoleum that our mom and dad where put to rest in, after 5-6 years of fighting with the cemetery to fix it, we had to move them because of the disarray condition that split open our parents volutes. If anyone that has family members in the mausoleum please look at their loved ones.
I’m glad other people have had a good experience with Evergreen. My brother and I visit Parkersburg every year and spend time at our grandparents’ plot at the top of the hill. What a beautiful view. We had hoped to make plans to purchase a plot, last year. After speaking by phone with two different people before our arrival, we made an appointment at their office. Unfortunately no one was there and we never received a call back when we left a message. Today, a year later, we were very disappointed to see the condition of the grass around the Last Supper section, where we came to pay our respects to our grandparents. I’m not sure we will be interested in being laid to rest at Evergreen. I wouldn’t leave a star but since I have to, I will leave it for the view, which deserves a 5 star review from the top of the hill.
I really wish this company would get their head out of their rear and do something for all of these families who have trusted them with their loved ones. I can tell you from year and years of experience with dealing with stonemor at multiple locations that the only way to get them to take any requests seriously is to go to the better business or get a lawyer involved. They have multiple locations that are in deplorable condition but have made no efforts to fix them. The mausoleum here at Evergreen has a crack in the back which is causing structural issues but they have yet to have it fixed. They will tell you it's in the works but never truly fix it, even when complaints are made. They raise prices every year but do not put that money back into the parks. Word of the wise if you see a cemetery owned by Stonemor run the other way they are all the same. Save your time go to SCI their parks are impeccable and their care is much better. This company is only about money. If you have a loved one at any of their parks I suggest you go in and review the records for discrepancies. There are multiple lots that have been double sold and their record keeping is not the best. If at all possible do not use any stonemor cemetery.
My father was buried there in 1950! I visit twice a year as I live out of state. Every year the maintenance gets worse.
My mother and father purchased their plot decades ago. Unfortunately the vault and casket my mother purchased was discontinued. Her death brought about a lot of pain and worry but Kristyne did an amazing job making sure we had a new casket and vault at a reasonable price. Her customer service was impeccable and her compassion is truly what makes her suited for this industry. Will most certainly be recommending Evergreen Cemetery for and future planning. The only gripe I have is I wish the road through the Cemetery was fully paved.
