Evolution Pro Shop, from its inception, has been focused on providing high-end cycling products and expert service to its customers. With over 20 years of experience doing custom cycle fitting and custom builds, Evolution owner and chief mechanic Scott Wilson has stayed up to date and on the edge of a fast changing industry.

In 1996, Wilson started Evolution Pro Shop as an eilite-quality shop within another bicycle store in Horsham, Pa. A year later, Evolution opened as an independent store in Newtown, PA. allowing the shop to reach new horizons. Over the years Evolution has provided repair service for professional teams such as Team Saturn, Shaklee, not to mention numerous regional teams,clubs, amatuer racers, and cycling enthusiasts.

Over the course of 9 years I purchased 7 bikes from this shop and raced for the shop for several years. I will never go into this shop again. Just 2 examples of the plain bad mechanical work done by the shop. I purchased a titanium road bike in 2015. Anti-seize must be used on anything that touches titanium or else it will fuse over time. No anti-seize was used on my carbon seat post, and a simple adjustment made by an excellent mechanic this year required us having to destroy the $300 seat post to get it out because it had fused to the frame. The last bike I bought from this shop in 2016 came with the wrong finish (stickers instead of etching), incorrect parts (cranks that were not the right length and the wrong chain ring size), and the preload on the crank was not adjusted properly so my crank nearly came off while I was riding. This could have caused a very serious injury if it had happened while descending or under an intense effort. The mechanic who fixed it was shocked to find the error. The seat also came loose twice during the first 2 races on the bike which I had never experienced previously. The fitting techniques used by the shop are also antiquated in my opinion. I had been experiencing some discomfort in the saddle, but Evolution just made a few adjustments and had me try some different saddles. Nothing scientific was done or offered. These issues continued until 2017 when I went to a new bike shop in Doylestown which did a state of the art 3 hour fit using video analysis, tried a variety of positions and found the most comfortable position for me which also allowed me to maximize my power. The changes were very significant and based on using the bottom bracket as the center of the fit rather than the top tube length. 5 months now, and have never felt better or stronger on the bike. A final note-items often take way longer than reasonable to arrive. I paid in full for a set of rollers which I had still not received a year later (I was finally refunded my money). I also personally experienced and observed several situations where items that should take days to arrive would take weeks or even months. This would not be a problem if 50% of the money was not put down up front which makes this unacceptable. Evolution has been able to survive for a long time by being one of the only bike shops in the area that can provide truly custom bikes. This is still the case, but one of the flagship brands carried (Moots) can now be purchased directly from the builder. You can take your chances with the shop, but will be hard pressed to find many customers who have been there 10+ years because of experiences similar to mine. Custom bikes are not cheap, and in my opinion you can do way better than this shop.

Best shop in the region by far for the serious rider, road, CX and MTB. Scott is a superior mechanic and builds a great wheel.

Honesty, Unparalleled knowledge and expertise. I first met Scott 7yrs ago, I have no idea about bikes. I immediately felt that I will be taken cared of given the short amount of time that I had spoken with him. There was no pressure to buy, it was all about finding the perfect bike. After this brief conversation, he made a suggestion and that's it! I dropped the hammer and scored my first bike. I really appreciate walking into a shop where the owner will answer all my questions then wrench on my bike. Owners of shops like this tend to have a vested interest in their customers and provide better service. This is by far the best bike shop in town. It is ran by the owner who is dedicated to the sport and willing to help anyone that is interested in riding regardless of their skill level. I've purchased 5 bikes from him, including my wife's and son's bike. Even though my budget drives me to shop for better deals on-line, I mostly just buy from them to support the BEST local bike shop in town. I live on the other side of town (NJ), with 4 of the "premier" shops within ten minutes of my house. The extra 40mins is well worth my time, knowing I'm getting great service, reasonable pricing and good selection of quality goods.

Nothing but praise for Evolution Pro Bike Shop. Scott has built all my bikes since I first went to his shop about 15 years back. I won't go anywhere else. From the relaxed atmosphere to the idyllic area with plentiful roads and trails....why go anywhere else?
