Decided to try Far East for dim sum on a whim. What a fantastic surprise! Awesome selection, outstanding quality, and a surprisingly reasonable price. I just realized maybe I should write a defensive 1-star review so this place doesn’t get more crowded or popular than it already is for dim sum on Sunday. If you need a dim sum fix that ranks up there with some of the best places I’ve tried in San Fran and NYC, this place will NOT disappoint.

A little old-fashioned in the dining area, but clean and spacious, Far East is a longstanding Rockville establishment. American-style Chinese for the most part, all of the dishes I've had were good. I think you can get more authentic fare, but I've never tried it myself. This is a favorite among my colleagues so we go at least once a month for lunch. They also deliver- there is a separate entrance and area for take-out order and pick up.

We used to get dim sum at a place in Silver Spring but they closed. This place is rather away but man the food is good. They had chrysanthemum tea which was great. Lots of great food, and the price is reasonable.

Went to a wedding celebration here. The food was a hit and miss depending on the dish. The crispy tofu dish had soggy and peeling skin. The beef and bell pepper dish was unusually sour. But the steamed fish and big meatball dishes were good. The service here was at best mediocre. The only time I recommend you come is for dim sum, which is pretty decent here.

Excellent dim sum. Attentive service even though we are not Chinese. Beautiful and clean restaurant.
