Fat Apple's has long been my go-to nearby bakery, since my late teens at the original (and still existent) Berkeley location transitioning to this El Cerrito location (and now their primary bakery) since I moved to Richmond. I've never had anything bad at the bakery. OK, except for the crossoints - but my standards for crossiants are ridiculously high, so I don't hold this against them! By far my favorite bakery item is the Cheese Puffs. They're once of the cheaper pastries (presumably because they're the smallest pastry Fat Apples sells) and you can get an even better deal if you find them on the "day old" tray - they're just as good! There is a small parking lot, but it's way too small for the business they do - especially during brunch hours on weekends! As far as the restaurant goes, again, I've never had anything bad. For lunch I most frequently order their quiche of the day and a small salad. For breakfast? It's all good!

Great customer service! Fabulous and fresh food! Clean and neat! Try the pumpkin pancakes are the best! And their iced tea is freshly brewed everyday! What more needs to be said? Love this place!

Good quality diner food, great service, fun for families - our toddler is always well looked after. We've been coming for brunch for decades, and it remains a family favorite.
