Story

From the owners of "Due South BBQ" comes the New River Valley's most recent take on Soul Food and seafood. Our delicious menu is influenced by the foods we love, the places we come from, and the music that moves us. Come dine on some crab legs, fish, burgers (...the menu goes on!) and grab a beer from our tap or our large selection of local and classic beer. Kick back and enjoy some live music while drinking one of our signature mixed drinks.

Instead of bread or rolls for the table, these guys serve up house made pork rinds! That pretty much gives you an idea of what you're in for here. Soul and comfort food done well with a few quirky additions for good measure. The seafood is surprisingly good for a roadside dive in the mountains. The burgers are big and flavorful. The sweet tea is spot on, which you'll appreciate since the only complaint I have about the food is that it's a little salty at times. The service is...meh. Servers are friendly enough at table side, but obviously prefer standing at the bar while eating and chatting to checking on patrons and offering refills. Been here twice so far and will definitely go again. It's a fun dive with something on the menu for everyone and you​ definitely won't go home hungry.

Food is tasty and the staff is very friendly. We came through from out of town and the staff was super helpful with first time diner questions. The catfish was light and crispy as well as flavorful. The hush puppies were small but very good. Order an appetizer of pork rinds, you won't be disappointed with their flavor, freshness, and crunch. Over all, very pleasant and extremely convenient location right off the highway. Thank you Vickie for being so accommodating, you are a superb representative for the restaurant.

Good food and great service. Everything from the decor (It looks like a truck-stop garage blend with it's giant tries made into the counter and actual tailgates for the backs of benches) to the food (if you never have fried green tomatoes anywhere else in the valley EAT.THEM.HERE.) My husband and I ordered a side of fried squash and a side of the fried green tomatoes to share as an appetizer. That was the best decision ever. Both were amazing. They were fried and seasoned to perfection! They needed no salt, they needed no sauce...just needed in my mouth! My main course was the half rack of St. Louis Style ribs and a side of collard greens. Was only okay with the greens (they tasted like they were cooked with vinegar in the pot and that isn't my thing but for others it may be awesome) and it came with 3 hush puppies (those things were golden balls of yummy). The hunk of rib meat that came out was the size of my head... seriously, this thing was huge. The flavor was really good but it could have been more tender in my opinion because I don't like to have to take a knife to my ribs I just like to bite into them. Also, upon eating the rest later because there was no way I could eat it all in one sitting, I ran into more of that toughness and a lot of gristle and fat and not much meat left considering the size of it...I was a little disappointed in that but I'd order it again (I am guessing that this was a fluke because meat cuts can be odd like that). Anywho, I had everyone in my office wanting BBQ thanks to me heating that up in the microwave. I can easily see myself working my way through the menu at this place. Also, do yourself a favor and try the beer they have on tap... you will not be disappointed.

If you want down home greasy cuisine then my friend this is your destination. They've recently added a burger menu and though they are pricey plan to take half home. The one complaint I have is a small one maybe even petty but if I'm buying a $15 dollar hamburger I'd prefer not use cheap packets of condiments which is all we were offered.

First time here and underwhelmed. Server was nice but service was slow. Maybe too many tables per server. Waited almost 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken. The sweet tea was terrible. The server indicated they brew their tea when I asked. It tasted like sugar water. Our kids' cheeseburgers were the best looking and tasting thing on the menu. The mac and cheese was sad. The green beans greasy. Corn on cob had no flavor. Mashed potatoes may have been okay if not for that putrid "gravy" poured on top. The fried chicken wings were fried too hard. Sweet Potato casserole was a 4 on a scale of 10. It was a sweet goo of a brown spoonful in the bottom of a little styrofoam container. The applesauce from a jar was good. The decor is dive bar and the bathroom walls are covered with graffitti. Looks more hillbilly than bayou.
