No two paths to a good education are exactly the same. Each child has a different way of learning; students need instruction tailored to fit their individual needs.
Faxon is a Literacy Focus school. Each month students focus on different literacy elements, such as: author's purpose, making inferences, sequencing, main idea, details, and drawing conclusions.
Until 2009 school year, Faxon was a Montessori school. When Franklin Elementary closed, students came to Faxon Elementary.
The original Faxon school, built in 1911, was named for Frank A. Faxon, head of one of the largest drug firms in the western United States. He also was a city councilman and a member of the school board from 1894 to 1912.
Faxon Elementary will serve students, families and our community by providing data driven instruction to increase academic achievement.
