This school has so much spirit and the football team rocks. I have enjoyed my child's experience at North Kansas City High School.

Awful. Drugs all over the school. Teachers aren't teaching. They allow them access to their phones to play games and selfies. They give them mac books that are supposed to be used for school appropriate things. Instead there in class on fb face time ect...distracting and taking away from what they should be concentrating on. The ones who are trying to learn are interrupted by these others on their phones, playing or mac books. Open campus really puts the school in a worst position. The teenagers leave campus, drive off campus to where they are not supposed to be. That's when the ones that don't go to the school or are already out of school, go and deliver illegal substances, boyfriends from other schools as well as girlfriends, in the cars in the parking lot doing illegal things as well as promiscuous behavior. The faculty know all this, but yet do anything to make changes. Police station is right there, the students. Have learned to work around them. Library, is the hang out where they hide inside as well as out, they use the church parking lot to smoke cigarettes and weed as I have seen on many occasion. Their communication with parent is almost non existent. Scheduling is impossible to know. When it comes to athletics. Also they can never get the kids schedules right for school and it's a constant job for the parent to have to continously try to make changes, cause it has to be done during school hours. When the student tries they basically ignore them, tell them we have to do it. My first two graduated from nkchs is was a hassle then, they promised changes for the better. It's gotten worse. Pulling my child from this school this year only a week in and so many dilemmas. Oh and a gun was found on campus just wensday they braught it in during "open campus lunch", way to start the first week of school a student with a gun in his back pack.
