Bank is horrible. Robbed me of over 100 dollars in less than a month.

This bank has an elaborate system set up to give it as many excuses as possible to put its hands into your pocket to pull out your money and make it theirs.  They kept assuring me that they appreciated me for being a long-time customer (7+ years), but that still didn't keep them from picking my pocket at every opportunity.  I discovered--to my cost--that when customers make deposits, they take their sweet time crediting it to your account so they can charge you for over-drafts--even when they've already got your money to cover it!

After having been laid off, it looked like I would soon not be able to keep up my mortgage payments, so I went in to talk with them about my paying only the interest for a few months.  They sent me to their main office downtown, where a lawyer/staff member of 5th/3rd talked to me about this arrangement.  It was very fortunate that I went home to think things over before signing anything because I discovered that none of the interest payments I would have made would have been applied to my mortgage until AFTER my last mortgage payment was made 23 years later.  In other words, they would've been taking my money, but not giving me any credit for it till 23 years later so they could be charging me interest for 23 years on a larger amount.

Unless you have money to burn, stay away from 5th/3rd.  Instead of crooks robbing the bank, the bank itself IS the crook!  I've been gone for a year now, and I have absolutely no regrets!
