I’ve found a new, local restaurant to add to the regular rotation. First, the restaurant itself is cozy, warm and welcoming. I would say it may be a bit too small for a group that’s bigger than 4 people. But it was perfect and comfortable for our group of 3. I also appreciated the music wasn’t blasting so we could have a conversation without screaming. All the cocktails we had were perfectly mixed… dangerous really. We especially loved the pollinator and the feisty monkey king. They were strong but didn’t take alcohol forward. In terms of food, everything was delicious. Must get: razor clams, corn jalapeño boloboa think of a spicy, cheesy pineapple bread combo!, turnip tots, and the whole branzino was amazing. We also got the long beans and pork ribs which were both fine. The pork ribs were cooked perfectly but a bit in the sweet side. The long beans were good but not mind-blowingly delicious. The server was great with the recommendations and the food/drinks came out quickly and people were constantly checking in, but not in an annoying way. Will I be coming back? For sure! But shh… don’t want too many people to go where I can’t get a table.
The food was authentic and really amazing! One of the best chinese in the city. Would argue its the same tier as uluh / szechuan mountain house, but more modern & fusion. The restaurant is very chic, nevertheless it does taste like good Chinese cooking. Speaking as a picker eater who grew up in cantoFood: 5/5
Gorgeous restaurant. It's cozy but stylish. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious. We got The Tower and everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our server Liz gave us great recommendations for shared plates and was very attentive. Stand-out cocktail for us was Kult Of Personality and stand-out dessert was the Banana Five Spice we'll definitely be returning!
Phenomenal meal and exceptional service! The scallop crudo and soy chicken were to die for. Will be coming back again!Food: 5/5
Cosy and modern, every plate we eat was a burst of flavours and textures I had not tried before. Add onto that a great cocktail bar with innovative mixes. Definitely joining my list of go to places in NYC, must try for those who haven’t, wouldn’t be surprised to see this place become really hard to book.Food: 5/5
Explosion of Southern and Asian flavors.. Every dish delivered -- from crab pimento dip and bok choy starfish fruit salad to Southern fried skate and pork ribs Chill hip vibe. Cocktails start the evening on the right note. Food is unexpected. Surprising wines. I hope this place rocks it.
An intimate and atmospheric dining experience. I had the pleasure of sampling amazing small plates and imaginative cocktails in a quiet but lively environment. The service was fantastic, the drinks expertly prepared, and the food fresh and tasty. The scallop crudo and seafood tower were standouts, but there was not a bad bite all evening.
creative and tasty dishes! my chinese american husband from mississippi loved it
Cozy yet elegant aesthetic, and I will be craving the Scallop Crudo until my next visit! Staff was attentive and had excellent recommendations. My only regret is not getting a second round of the Kult of Personality. Delicious!Food: 5/5
