I had rivets pop on a bag strap within weeks of purchase. I sent it in for repair, but they missed fixing one of the rivets. It’s a cool bag, but it took over half a year for the repair to be completed and it’s still not right. I expected much better quality than this.
Filson may have been making clothes for 100 years but the business model needs to be updated to this century. I returned an item that was waaaay to big to be a medium but have to wait for them to receive it, process it and then issue me a credit so I can start all over. However after 2 weeks I checked on my return and they said they’re still “processing returns from the holidays” 3 months ago! and are backed up so it’ll be a few more weeks. Don’t the holidays come every year? Wouldn’t you think they’d have a plan for this? So now I’m just waiting indefinitely to get a $400 credit so I can buy something else and hope to God I don’t have to return it too! To add insult to injury, the phone lines aren’t open late or early - just a comfortable 7-3 pacific time so you’ll need to block your work schedule to call them while they’re open
These guys saved my life! My boyfriend had a zip up hoodie he LOVED. And then our husky turned it into a chew toy. The hoodie was no longer on their website, so I called the store to see if they happened to have one crumpled in the back of a sales rack. They didn't, BUT, they were able to order it using some ninja level customer service and have it sent to my house. SO GRATEFUL!
It's very cozy and small for a Filson's store, and they have limited stock, but the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and they know their products. Filson's has amazing gear at prices which reflect the made in the USA quality and lifetime warranty.
This was an incredible experience. I own Filson products but had never been in a retail store before. Chrismanager, Deborah and Lynn were three of the best customer service reps I’ve ever had. I’m in cs so when I say they are exceptional….. I mean it. I bought a Beartooth Camp Jacket and my cousin bought a skinning knife. We are very pleased with both. I know when you read this you’ll probably of wanted more product review. C’mon, it’s Filson. You already know it’s the best. The in store experience will last for me just like the garment and knife. Thank You D.C. store.
I flew in from Texas for a National meeting and one of the first things I went to was this store. There was a private event and was very disappointed as there aren’t any Texas stores, however the manager said it was ok for my wife and I to come in. The manager and staff were extremely polite and helped me try on numerous jackets even though there was a private event. Great service and very helpful staff. Will be visiting this store every time I come to DC.

Amazing jacket, perfect service. Delivery took a little long, but I'd buy from here again without reservation. I drove about 50 minutes to the DC location because this was a huge amount of money and I wanted to be sure I got the right one. I ended up settling in the Mackinaw Cruiser in dark green. I had to order a size smaller than I usually do as these jackets seem to run large. Unfortunately, the size that fit me best was out of stock so Lynn Schwartz had the jacket ordered and delivered to my home about a week later. My entire experience in store was honestly top notch. All of my questions were answered and I left with confidence that this was the correct jacket for me. I even got a follow up email from Chris Powers with some interesting information - apparently Filson holds an old ~1910s patent on this jacket. I had no idea and that gave the purchase some heritage. The jacket I received was of top-notch quality. It fit as I expected; the detailing was absolutely perfect; it felt warm and sturdy. So far I haven't worn the jacket for too long but I already know I'll keep this for a very long time. I've owned plenty of the other brands like Ralph Lauren, Barbour, etc., and the material quality and fitment on this one is a notch above the rest. How wonderful is it that the best jackets are made right here in America? Based on my experience so far, I'd highly recommend Filson and the DC store if you're looking for some high quality outerwear.
Popped in today to see the Filson story at first hand. Very friendly and knowledgeable customer service team who explained some of the history, shared some stories and made me feel very welcome. Really liked their products and I will be back soon with my wife to pick some pieces up. Great work!
