Great Choice of Vacation Rentals. Beautiful accommodations at several locations.

Every year a group of our friends rents a cabin/house in the Finger Lakes for my wife’s and friends April birthday. This year we were too big for our usual rental so we researched other larger options. In our search we found that Finger Lakes Premier Properties held the rental contracts for the majority of the places we were interested in. I called on a Sunday night and left my information with an attendant letting them know my contact information and type of rental we were looking into. After two messages left at the office I was able to finally reach someone on Thursday and we had to start from the beginning again. We did find one that was on our list but needed permission from the owner for an additional two people. The price was what we wanted and within a short period of time we got the approval for the additional occupants. At this point I told the person that we were interested in taking the property I just needed to send an e-mail to those involved. Later that evening I sent an e-mail confirming that we would take the property and received an e-mail that we would finalize the rental the next morning. I missed their initial call the next morning but did receive an e-mail follow up saying to call them to set things up. I did call in the afternoon and as we are booking the reservation she tells me they sold the property yesterday. I was taken back given the stream of e-mails and phone calls in between that confirmed that we are all set to take the reservation. She was apologetic but after a certain period of time of my flabbergasted tone she grew weary of my disapproval for the situation and became short with me on the phone. I had even asked for the manager’s name in the hope that she would see the need for someone to help with the situation but it was not well received. That night there were two alternatives that were forwarded on from the agent, however were no where near the standard of what we were looking at. I countered their 2 options with a list of eight possibilities – all of which were responded to as not open or not in the same price range. I had asked for the company to waive their 9.5% booking fee and cleaning fees (range from $75-$150) to make the rental price closer to what we had originally planned for. At this point I have sent on two other e-mails – one asking where we stand with additional options and another giving three other choices. It has been well over a week since I have heard from anybody and have secured another rental. In my opinion the experience I had with Finger Lakes Premier Properties did not meet my expectations as a customer. Admittedly this is an extraordinary situation however I find it hard to believe that there was no way to let others know that there was a buyer interested and that the property was in the process of being rented. This to me represents a great lack of communication and organization in their company. A greater disappointment in the situation is the lack of a solution in taking care of a customer’s needs; not even a phone call from a manager. It seems clear that Finger Lakes Premier Properties has enough customers to not need to take care of the ones with problems.

I live about 5 hours away from the Finger Lakes and put together a vacation for 14 people. I found a suitable place via a very simple search. I was able to make the 2 payments and a code was emailed to me to enter the rental. The place (Stonepoint) was gorgeous and we were beyond satisfied with the whole process. Will definitely tell friends and family to use this company when traveling here!!

FLPP is fabulous! They were extremley accomodating when my family needed a rental last minute. They went over everything in great detail and even took extra effort to get us tickets to some local events if we wanted them. The staff is so nice and easy to work with. We've used them in the past and now I remember why! They will get many referrals from me!
