I was in a time crunch situation trying to get a document notarized for my employee to run payroll. I figured since the document was intended for me on behalf of my employee it would not pose problem.,  I was one of the first 500 people to open an account 20 years ago in New York. No they didn't. I explained on the phone it was for me and I was tied up with clients, but they refused. I have never heard of such  issue dealing with any bank. I told the employee to go across the street to Middlesex Bank and see if they could do the notarizing. Yup, they did, with no account and--- for free.  I called First Republic corporate to talk to them about this manager thinking this was an employee gone rogue. Nope, no support and no sorry.
I closed my accounts and moved across the street. Good riddance, I am sorry I am not a corporate CEO with millions with my own personal winery. What snobs!

This is just a very wonderful bank. They don't have a lot of branches and that is just fine. In the 4 years I've banked with them I've only need a actual branch 2 times. Every time I have a banking interaction its perfectly executed. The level and quality of service at first republic is unmatched in banking.
