Sadly, my experience with First Lease was not very good at all. I made the decision to work with First Lease on the recommendation of a trusted acquaintance in my industry. The concept of leasing equipment over time instead of spending a single lump sum on one transaction sounded good to me, so I decided to move forward. The process started simple enough, I gave my rep, Bill Hughes, the names of the companies that sold the equipment I wanted to buy then I gave him the product numbers of the specific pieces. From there, I was informed that he was going to get those companies set up as “approved vendors” in their system. Next I heard from Bill, I was told that both of the companies I wanted to buy goods from had been approved and that all we need to do is wait until the goods arrive to take the next step. This is where the problems begin. 10 days after the conversation above (I was told the ship time for both items was going to be 10 days), I followed up with Bill to see where we were with the process and he told me he would look into it. He got back to me 2 days later with a story about how one of the vendors was not willing to process the transaction the way that First Lease wanted to and that we would no longer be able to buy the equipment from that particular vendor. When I asked him, “Why were they an approved vendor then” I was not given a helpful answer. It seemed clear to me that there was a great lack of knowledge in just what was happening. So, I ended up buying that piece of equipment out of pocket which cost about $2,000. I had a job that I needed the machine in mention for and could not wait any longer. Working with them to buy this particular piece was a huge waste of time and effort. But wait….there’s more. I also was trying to purchase another piece of equipment from another vendor. When that piece of equipment arrived, I went to the store that was selling it to pick it up (it was a local store). When I got to the store to pick up the equipment I learned that it had not been paid for by First Lease yet and that money still needed to be transacted. So the store rep called Bill and had several discussions with him over a period of 3 hours. The short story is that I was not able to get that piece of equipment either! Finally, to add insult to injury, I was refused a refund on the payment I made to process paper work. I have never in my life reviewed another company negatively before but given the events that happened I felt compelled to make others aware of my experience. You should definitely think twice before making a purchase from First Lease. Shop around, I am sure there are better companies to work with. In short, 2 weeks wasted, a few hundred dollars lost and a large amount of saved money was used to buy equipment that I would have preferred to finance alternatively….thanks First Lease for making this experience so enjoyable (insert sarcasm here).

When contacting them about my contract the Customer service Representative was VERY RUDE, and I felt she rushed me off and wouldn't give me her name or a survivor, to try to resolve my problem.
