I am happy with the car, though the price I paid initially was more than I expected. They did compensate half of what I asked upon my return and I do believe they are hard-working people who are trying to make an honest living.

The length of the March 2018 sales process was quick and easy - I came in on a Sunday and spoke with Joe. Monday morning, Elena ran my application. By Monday afternoon, I signed some papers with Don so I could drive home in my 2012 Honda Accord.

My main complaint? The advertised "special price" is not as described on their website: "this is the special price of the vehicle. Price may change for financing based on credit history."

Admittedly, on the day of the sale I signed without going over the contract myself, but I just assumed I was getting the lower, special price. I know I have excellent credit. In fact very little was about the contract was explained to me (merely, sign here and here...) But that's my fault for not knowing what I was signing.

So I e-mailed them and eventually came back into the dealership a few weeks later to discuss what went wrong.

Don began by explaining to me how financing works (yes, I am aware that the decision to fund or deny a loan depends on the credit-worthiness and the amount of risk a potential borrower poses if they agree to lend, etc.)  

We eventually discussed my application. I asked what my score was (previous example sales he showed me were from applicants with scores in the 600's and one with a 710 score). My score was 755. Yet for some reason I was charged the full, regular price.

"Price may change for financing based on credit history." Well credit history is excellent...

Don's attempt to explain why boils down to basically this: the system they use for sales - some dealership website all of his sales are logged - is charging them a not-so-small fee if a vehicle is financed (about 10% of the price). He went on to explain that when drawing up the paperwork, the special price is for CASH purchases and the regular price for financing. That's not what your website says, however.

It did not make complete sense to me, but I believed him. I just wish their website clearly communicated that the low price advertised is for CASH buyers or for those who do not apply for financing through them.

For a modest operation, their service is 5 star.  I recently purchased a 2006 Mazda Miata.  NO PRESSURE!  The business is family owned and makes you feel just like that.   I will be soon making another auto purchase and it is worth the drive.  I live in Ontario California.  Thanks FJ Auto see you soon .

They wanted $5,500, and I explained I needed it for my daughter,  and all I could afford was $3,500, and he said OK, because I have a daughter too.  And I'm Norwegian.  So now we are good friends.  Like family.

Don gave me a great deal on a Jeep in excellent condition, the entire process was great and very much no hassle. Highly recommend.
