Flamig Farm

About

New England's Premier Agritainment destination (in West Simsbury, CT), Flamig Farm is an environmentally-minded educational resource Farm in the picturesque Farmington Valley since 1907.

Story

An Enviro-friendly Family-centered Farm with Petting Zoo, alternative energy sources, Earth Products (Mulch, Compost and Comp-soil) division, Farm Shop, Pony/Hay-rides, Staycation accommodation, Party Room and Summer Camp programs.

Over the past 30 years, driven by Nevin Christensen's eco-environmental vision, Flamig Farm has grown from a modest Egg, Organic Vegetable, and Strawberry Farm into a richly-varied, education and entertainment Farm complex.

Now's the time for this much-loved community resource to leap into the future and realize its potential to become a major source of information and inspiration during what appears to be a period of uncertainty, change, and upheaval throughout the world.

This document presents a vision of such a future and outlines a pathway toward becoming a center for demonstration and education in the context of vital human systems, particularly food, energy and health.

I visisted Flamig Farm yesterday with my sister, mother and two year old nephew. From the second we walked up to the entrance we were welcomed by Farmer Julie offering to take our family photo in front of the old pick up truck with a wreath on the front and a Christmas tree in the bed. She took adorable pictures for us and was so welcoming! Every single staff member we encountered were visibly happy to be there and so happy to welcome us and smile and give advice on the best way to enjoy our visit. From Santa to the animals at the petting zoo and the sing along hayride it was an experience to never forget. So thankful for finding this gem! I highly recommend this great place!! Thanks for a great day!!

Flamig farm has become a tradition in our family since our son was born. We lived about 30 minutes away, but the drive up there is beautiful and once you get there you realize how worth it the trip is. The animals at this farm are so loved and cared for and you can tell right away because they are so friendly. There are donkeys, horses, ducks, chickens, pigs, goats, sheep, llamas, emus, cows, bunnies, and others. This farm is a great place for our now 3 year old son to run around and play and feed the animals. Definitely a great find!!!

Flamig Farm is one of my family's favorite destinations. It's such a low-key activity - you can stroll around the farm at your own pace, it's never overcrowded or hectic. They have a great variety of farm animals to visit with and offer $5 pony rides on the weekends. After 3 years of visiting, my daughter finally decided she was ready for a pony ride this year. Waffles the pony was great and is now a household name for us ☺️ Unfortunately we'll be out of town for their Earth Day celebration this year; we went last year and it was wonderful. Great farm, great staff, and awesome egg shirts!

This is the best place I've ever gone! My family loves going there more than anything else. The fresh air and animals are the best thing for kids and adults! The staff is amazing and always friendly. I love the animals more than my son I think. :) We bring our own veggies and fruit for the critters and they love it! It's a 30 min drive but we went almost every single weekend last spring/summer. We will definitely get season passes this year!
