We got a few dishes. The queso, cauliflower risotto, squash mushroom noodles, and sides of shrimp and tofu. A couple of thoughts for each. The queso and chips were good. Cauliflower risotto had way way too much sage - it was so overpowering. You'll see the abundance of sage in one of the pictures. I liked the squash mushroom noodles. The shrimp and tofu were severely under seasoned. I understand the theme being healthy but it tasted like there wasn't any salt in it. Overall the taste of the food was inconsistent - some good and others not. I still would come back to try their other dishes. Atmosphere was good. Bright and inviting. Staff were great.
Very good salads. We had a seasonal autum harvest salad and a chicken enchilada. Both tasted great. There is also a selection of hot sauces to choose from as condiments. Perfect lunch!
Very delicious blends..the chicken enchiladas were highly recommended by wait staff..The bathrooms were clean.well-stocked with paper towels and soap..had handicap rails and diaper changing station. Very bright and colorful place. Outdoor dining available..the music is loud inside in the evening...the sangria is fabulous .the wine excellent .you will enjoy this place if you go with good company. In the Foggy Bottom area about 2 blocks from metro Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian and gluten free options available here.
I was there twice. I enjoyed the food so much that I went a second time! It's a great option if you want something healthier. They have a wide variety of vegetarian options, and the ones I tried were pretty tasty. Overall, I would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Flower child is a vibrant restaurant offering a wide variety of healthy meals in the Foggy Bottom area. Salads, bowls, entrees, wraps - whatever you’d like - with protein options like chicken, steak, salmon, shrimp, and tofu. Located next door to North Italia, it’s a great lunch spot. Always busy but with quick service. Flower Child is an unbeatable salad spot. Only complaint is the pricing - I’ve gone here several times and each visit is between $20-30. For the casual dining environment, the prices are a bit steep. However, the portions are generous and food’s tasty. I’ll continue to dine here and recommend anyone looking for a solid and casual networking location, quick meal, and healthy salad. Vegetarian options: Plenty! Parking: Street parking Wheelchair accessibility: On the ground floor without steps
Perfect place! Love the food! Really delicious since it’s not processed. Spot is always clean! Everyone is really kind nothing to complain abt. Love the fact that they give you even free water. If you want to have a good and nutritious meal, this is the place.Food: 5/5
Flavorful, colorful, fresh, healthy - staff was above & beyond. Had a chicken kabob bowl and steak wrap, but their vegetarian offerings were tempting too.Food: 5/5
Really great lunch spot. Caught them right when they opened. Food was delicious and quick. Employees were very friendly too. Got the chicken enchilada bowl and I’d definitely recommend it.Food: 5/5
I really wanted to love Flower Child -- after all, with such cute decor, an amazing menu of healthy options including plenty of plant-based choices, and an adorable name, this place seemed to tick all the boxes. While the inside of the restaurant was indeed decorated beautifully, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered their chopped vegetable salad with tofu and it was all just very...average. Despite the flurry of vegetables that the menu said the salad was supposed to have, it was definitely very lettuce-forward -- the other toppings were all piled on top and, even so, still looked pretty lackluster and the entire bottom 3/4 of the salad was just plain lettuce. The tofu was also pretty bland. It was "marinated," but it felt like the marinade only penetrated about 0.1 millimeters of the tofu, and the rest of the slice had very little flavor. Although $14 is a pretty average price to pay for a salad in DC, it felt way overpriced for what was basically a bowl of lettuce and unseasoned tofu. What bothered me most about the experience, though, was that not everything was fresh -- I found several pieces of wilted lettuce some of which had become yellow, some of which had completely shriveled down into a rotten mess and two of the very few snow peas they provided had mold on them. I don't mind a bland salad, but I do mind a salad that has the potential to make me sick...All in all, Flower Child was cute, but really didn't live up to the hype. I might give one of their bowls a try if I have to come back, but, honestly, I was pretty disappointed by the overall experience and I'll probably try to avoid coming here again.
delicious food and wonderful ambiance. had the chicken wrap which was delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. met a friend here after work instead of grabbing a fancy drink somewhere that would cost the same as dinner and the ambiance, service, and food quality did not disappoint!Food: 5/5
