Excellent atmosphere, drinks, and exceptional service. The cocktail I had was perfect and beautifully presented accompanied by some lovely olives and mixed nuts. This place provides a top notch level of service  whether you go by yourself or with someone/group.Food: 5/5

I have loved this place since moving to DC in 2012. Everytime visitors came from out of town I would bring them here. The drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is quintessential DC politics vibe.  HOWEVER!! I'm worried that this place is heading downhill. We went last night with family visiting for the week. I told them this place had an awesome vibe and they gave you fun caricature coasters and served the best chocolate martinis. Well.....I was told we couldn't have any of the fun coasters instead we got crummy red napkins. Even though people sitting at the bar got coasters! Also, I was straight up told no when I ordered a chocolate martini! That was my go to drink here and now they don't want to serve it? This was insane.  We did stay and just enjoyed the ambiance and drinks we did get. But man....this place sure isn't what it once was when I discovered it. Do better Off the Record....do better. My four stars may have to be updated after my next visit and I have a repeat of the subpar experience.

This place was amazing! A speakeasy kind bar. I featured it in my new novel, Inside The Enemy. The Manager went out of her way to attend to me and the bartender was the best! You have to check it out.Food: 5/5

A friend of ours showed us the Off the Record and we can't thank her enough. An awesome, cozy little bar that kind of has a speak easy vibe. The drinks and the atmosphere were amazing. We liked it so well, we visited a few times. It was also entertaining to look at the caricatures and figure out who they are.Service: 5/5

Pretty cool spot def worth a check / the drinks did come with some bar snacks / they weren’t great chips were stale / olives were not good but this was a complementary item . Definitely a cool vibe with the all red interiorFood: 3/5

Pulled up to the bar for a drink and meal. Took a minute to get a server but attentive once served. Loved the feel of the bar and thoroughly enjoyed my drink.Food: 4/5

An institution in DC where those in-the-know come to bask in the historic tutelage of politics intersecting the news. Many an important people have come to enjoy power drinks and conversations. The mood upper echelon, the drinks stiff, the food all American faves. Seated deep and dimmed lights give just the right amount of anonymity when needed but where the room is lively abuzz still. Enjoy this distinct DC bar where commissioned illustrations on coasters have become world famous collector items.

Stopped by with a friend and my wife after a wonderful high end dinner that deserved a nice place for a night’s drink. We decided to try Off the Record and we were very happy we did! Definitely a political vibe, and a place to be seen if you want to in DC. Truly, I’m more interested in the drinks and the cookies and ice cream were delicious! Can’t really tell you about the food, but dessert was delicious and we enjoyed the bar snacks that they bring to your table!
