They did such an awful job repairing a very expensive and very hardy find vintage Matilda Jane dress I bought for my daughter. I will now have to take somewhere else to see if the damage the did can be reversed. There was about a 1" place on the waist line where the stitching had come undone. This band connected the bodice to the skirt. They sewed that gap up but went over the existing stitches about 1"to the left of the gap and about 3" to the right of the gap. This wouldn't be so bad if they had sewn a straight line and used matching thread! The dress has brown stitching, but for fun, I guess, they decided to fix it using blue thread! I did not complain because it would make any difference as I wouldn't trust them to repair it properly a second time. Do not bring them your clothes!

Fong's did an excellent job altering a special occasion dress for me and they have always done an excellent job with my son's JROTC uniform.

It appears Fongs hasn't changed. I took several articles (6) of clothing to Fongs 2 years ago, 14 days in advance of my trip to San Francisco. I needed BASIC alterations done which were simply length and waist type alterations. I was guaranteed there would be no problem to have my clothing back in plenty of time to make my trip and NOPE! When I went up there 4 days before my flight (2 days after I was told they would be done) I was told they were not done and could not be done in time for me to take them to San Fran. The person at the cash register was extremely rude and had an attitude because I wasn't simply saying it was fine. I blew a gasket and demanded my clothing back. I was told to leave and never come back after I expressed my anger and frustration, in a not so nice way. I rushed my clothes over to Lee's on Bob Wallace and they put a rush job on my clothes and had them back to me in time for my vacation. I will never use Fong's and I go out of my way to tell others not to use her. Fong's is WAY over priced, deadlines mean nothing and customer service is horrendous. As you read in the other reviews, Helen Keller can do a better job than Fong's. Find someone else or go to Lee's.
