Where do I begin? I have never wrote a bad review in my life. My primary care doctor was trying to get me into a foot and ankle specialist asap because I had a tumor on the bottom of my foot. The one she wanted to send me to was booked out a month so she found that this place could get me in asap. I called to set up an appointment at Foot and Ankle Specialists of West Michigan and the receptionist said "we can get you in tomorrow at 8:15". I went in "tomorrow at 8:15" and she said no no you're appointment is tomorrow. So of course I was a little peeved because I was certain I was there the day she told me to be. They got me in anyways with Dr. Rewitzer and set me up to have surgery a month out. One of the things they require is payment up front for surgery even if you have insurance.... which is strange to me.... but I wanted the tumor out so I agreed to it. I called the office 4 times to ask how much I was going to need to pay.... they just kept saying that they would get back to me. Time goes by and now it's a week before my surgery and still nobody can tell me how much I have to pay up front. I then call the surgery center where my surgery is taking place to try and get an answer.... the receptionist says "hmmm that's strange we don't have you scheduled to have a surgery here". The woman from a Walker surgical center was extremely nice and went out of her way for me. She called Foot and Ankle of West Michigan and the surgery scheduler "forgot to schedule me". After spending an hour on the phone I am scheduled for surgery but still no idea what I have to pay up front. The next day the surgery scheduler calls me and says it will be $300 up front. I still find it hard to believe they take people's money before a surgery that they haven't even billed my insurance for yet but I pay the $300. Then on the day of my surgery I get a call from Walker surgical center saying that my doctor wants me to come in earlier for surgery because he wants to get done working earlier... very unprofessional if you ask me but I go there earlier. I bend over backwards for this doctor and guess what!? He is late! After the surgery I was in an extreme amount of pain for days. I called the office and asked them to dispense me crutches because I hadn't been able to put any weight on my foot what so ever and they would not dispense me crutches. I went in for my post surgery appointment and explained to him the pain that I am and he made fun of me. "It's only 6 stitches" "you're trying to milk it through thanksgiving so people feel bad for you aren't you?". I had surgery 12 days ago and am still in an extreme amount of pain. Something is not right and the doctor does not care what so ever. He collected my money and moved on to the next person. DO NOT GO HERE!
