Story

This tropical KOA has all the comforts of home-and more-including a fantastic location on Pine Island, the "Tarpon Capital of the World." Enjoy lakeside sites, two clubhouses, a large heated pool, a spacious hot tub, a lighted tennis court and other resort amenities. Meander along the island's bicycle path, which weaves among mango groves and farms. During winter months, hop on the bus to area beaches and attractions. Collect seashells or fish the crystal clear waters off the Gulf Coast. Tour the scenic waterways of this historic area, once peppered with working fishing villages. For a taste of Fort Myers' elegant past, visit the winter estates of Thomas Alva Edison and Henry Ford. Taste the bountiful area seafood too.

I loved the heated pool, it was very deep. I loved the hot tub. The bathrooms were super clean. The showers had nice hot water. We stayed in the tents and the bathroom was right across the street. The spots are very small and close together. The tent sits on an elevated platform. There is a shared sink that we can use for dishes etc and is lit for night time. They pick your trash up for you which is convenient. There was a clubhouse we went into to use the bathroom while the other was cleaned. It has a work out room, pool table, games, television etc and seemed nice. There was a play structure for kids but I would recommend covering it for shade. We loved our experience.

Tent camped here for 5 nights during Christmas 2017. The campground is very nice - the staff was very friendly and helpful, amenities were mostly updated and clean, and it was very quiet. Kids loved the pool and clubhouse - no shortage of activities for rainy or cool days. The only downside is the long driving distance to beaches - but we found that we were perfectly happy staying in the campground for the majority of our stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a laid-back south Florida camping experience.

Nice campground located on quiet island! Many amenities at and around the campground. No beaches in area but this greatly reduces the traffic in the area. No water access directly from campground other than rec lakes (viewing only, no swimming). Campground is a mix of mostly retired snowbirds and some general camping. Mostly camper sites but some tent sites available.

Had great grilled grouper tacos and enjoyed the steel drum music of Calypso Magic.Big menu, Old Florida ambiance. Docking available and Matlacha is a quaint little fishing/ artist village.

The location and park is great, however, the personnel who does the scheduling does not care about customer service. They are busy and will not give you a parking spot near your friend. I asked to extend my stay. Their response was that they were full. I asked that if there was a cancellation, I would like to have the spot. They said they would look when they could get to the computer and they would give me a call. I never received the call. Obvious they didn't care. After all, if I didn't take it someone else would. With the poor attitude, I will not return
