I had the pleasure of rooming in both the dorms and the officer quarters and the dorms are Spartan as you would expect. The officer quarters were a nice blast from the past, from the radiator heat coal fireplaces and the beautiful craftsman quality it was a nice treat. Although the buildings are not kept in 5 star quality, being historic buildings the care is adversely expensive so it makes sense. I feel the stat provides a great value. Oh and the grounds are beautiful, the view of the straight is a real treat.

My dog's face says it all. Fort Worden is an amazing state park. Beautiful! There is an area you can hike and you get to see structures from decades past like the memory's vault and batteries. The lighthouse is gorgeous. Plenty of parking space for automobiles of all sizes. Make sure to buy a $30 annual pass and can be used to all state parks in WA. Day pass is $10... not worth it.

Phenomenal place to explore!!! It takes more than 1 day to see everything Fort Worden has! Amazing history to see. If you go to the museum watch the video it shows how the batteries operate. Make sure you check out the upper batteries too.. there is lots to explore here and it's all right on the beach! My kids loved it! Beach campsites have full hookups.

We had cocktails and a light snack at the Taps @ the Guardhouse. Cute little eatery bar that they tucked into the old guard house,  add long as you don't mind eating behind bars it is a pretty nice experience.  Prices for drinks are moderate.  Though they have more top shelf than rack booze. So far we have only had drinks and apps, they keep bringing us back.

We vacationed here as a group of 5 friends, and we made reservations for a corporal cottage and they bumped us up for free to a sergeant suite due to over booking. The staff were friendly and eager to point out fun things to do in the area. It's not as rustic as I'd expected for a state park, the units are cozy with good heating and decent kitchen appliances. Our visit took place over Christmas, so the park was cold, empty, and gorgeous to walk through with little to no foot traffic. We loved our stay and would recommend it for a relaxing and low key getaway
