Quiet, often breezy. This was our fourth visit to Fremont Peak. Hopefully that indicates to the reader that we enjoy the park. Keep in mind that we live nearly 300 miles away and it is no small task to get there. Expect it to take a long time to travel the 11 miles to the park from San Juan Bautista along a road with sharp switchback turns not advisable for any but the smallest RV. If you do bring a tall camper rig or pop-up, use extreme care if you back into space 18 due to a low hanging branch that can damage the roof. Also expect that you will see spectacular vistas if the air is clear. Vault toilets - the one next to space 17 has a nicely tiled floor but did not appear to be recently mopped. It was however, stocked with the essentials. Valley View trail appeared to be somewhat overgrown but passable. The trails that lead to the peak are popular for the family hiker and the view at the top is worth the effort. As always, watch out for Poison Oak. Water is available and tastes OK. Reserve if you have time, but there always seems to be a space available if not the ideal one on the day of the stargazing event when the park could be fully booked. Doe Flats is a group camping area nearby but may be hard to locate due to the small size of the sign next to a dirt road across from the park entrance.

Beautiful place to camp. No campfires this summer, but it's so warm you don't need them. Great views. Go for campsite 25 if you want front row seats to the sunset.

Best views of Monterey,Salinas,Santa Clara Valley.Fairly easy walk to the top and nice trails.There is camping.Go for sunset!

Beautiful Park, long drive up a narrow road. Camp sites are nice but very close to your neighbors. Go during the week and you might just be the only one on the mountain.
