My family has been going here for years and generally friendly smiles has done a great job. But shortly after college I went back after a gap for s cleaning. The hygienist who was newer took x-rays and checked for gingivitis and cleaned my teeth which took awhile given how long it has been. I did not see the dentist that day and was asked to come back in two weeks. I told them that I was moving for the summer and wouldn't be back until fall. Turns out I had a few cavities which they did not tell me about because the dentist didn't look at my x-rays until months later when I returned. These cavities of course had groeg. My procedure then became complicated. I was in the office for almost 3 hours. Multiple attempts on filling the cavity. Then it wasn't filed down enouge and I had months of dental pain eating even the softeds foods.

I was very happy with friendly smile when I first started going. The hygienists were nice and did a great job and I like Dr. Barfield. However, when I went back this year and saw a different doctor, things changed. I had my first cavities ever. I was quoted my payment  two days prior to going in only to find out that my payment would be 80% more when I got there! And I have also received another bill in the mail. But here is the big problem. The dentist Dr. Mahale, kept watching TV while fixing my cavities! Then I went back because I had one that was still hurting and she told me nothing was wrong with it. So, her bedside manner is not great either. She also asked me if I was pregnant and working in a different job field. So, they try and their facts from the files and she obviously got hers mixed up. I don't want my dentist to be my friend, I want a dentist to do their job professionally. I still have a tooth that hurts and I don't want to go back to see her because she made me so uncomfortable! They also sent me a letter asking me to write a review, so I did.

My husband and I go here for all our dental work and they've greatly improved both of our smiles, my husband especially. They are definitely friendly and professional. Neither of us felt judged during our consultations and we have a long road ahead of us at this establishment. Thanks!

I've moved away from the area and it was honestly easier to replace my hairdresser, our chiropractor, and our auto mechanic than it was to replace our dental hygienist.  She was honestly that good.  (I'm sure they have a few great hygienists, but I saw Danielle)  

I went to Friendly Smiles in Fargo and loved it.  I went for a few years and saw 3 or 4 different dentists over the course of time- all were good.  The Hygienist though; was fantastic.  That's what matters more to me, I see her every time I'm there, and spend the most time with her.  That's who I really want to take care of me.  I went 4 times/year for cleanings and she did a great job and I never had any pain or discomfort.  She explained procedures well and genuinely motivated me to have better dental health. (I definitely can't say that about any other dental team I've had in the past)

A pleasant dental experience might be worth a 4 hour drive cross state.. I might be back to visit if I can't find a good hygienist in my new area.

All of the staff from the reception to the hygienists to the Dentists were extremely warm and friendly as was the atmosphere. They did a great job of explaining everything as they went and have some very cool features like beats headphones with TVs for while they work on your teeth. I would highly recommend this dental office
