Reviews
The people who complain about face control... try making a reservation in advance. They are usually booked well in advance, so you have to call early. Calling it face control is honestly absurd and ridiculous. I'm from the former USSR and the owners themselves speak with a strong Italian accent. We've eaten here several times and it was always awesome. This is the last place where you'd get "face controlled" for not being from America. It's a good sign when you have to reserve in advance. The food is fantastic and well worth the price.

An authentic and appreciated escape from the chicken/shrimp/eggplant "parm" with red sauce wasteland that is North Jersey Italian. "From Scratch" lives up to the hype. Fresh buffalo mozz flow in from Italy, house cured charcuterie, hand made pasta, tender veal and delicate fish. Flavors are clean, and unadulterated. Small touches enhance the experience -- sit at the chef's counter and watch Chef Claudia construct an array of James Beard worthy desserts. Question about the food? She's happy to explain and share her passion. The oil served with fresh bread is actually made of olives.. a rare treat on this side of the Atlantic. To top it all off, the place has a great vibe and modern feel to it. The dining room always feels packed and alive, buzzing as walk ins periodically pop in hoping for a little luck. The servers are well trained (always busy, never idle) and exceptionally well versed with the menu and cooking techniques. Treat yourself. You're welcome.

The food is amazing. Everything is so fresh and the staff is attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu.

There was very strict face control. I can assure you that we are very well dressed and educated people originally from Ukraine. Probably, Owners do not like those who speak English with an accent. Predigest? -Who knows. We tried to visit the restaurant twice. The first attempt to visit the restaurant was in the first weeks of its opening when in principle it is important for the owners to prove quality of food, service, and hospitality in order to receive good rating. However, we were told that they fully occupied and restaurant about to close Despite the fact that floor was almost empty and time was 7:30 pm on Saturday. A year later, the second attempt was ended the same. When we walk in, no one rushed to get to us although waiters and owners noticed our presence right away. The Floor wasn't occupied and it was only 6:30 pm on Saturday but we were answered traditionally - there is no table available! We felt a slap in the face again!!!

Food? Outstanding! By far the freshest Italian cuisine this side of the Atlantic. Service? Perfect! Atmosphere? Quaint and intimate. Small bistro with surreal delights for those who love to eat. Price? Moderate with ample portions Worth the wait, bit highly recommend you make reservations. Can't wait to come back for more.
