Gage Park is a great example of good public planning many years ago. This park features a large number of play areas for children, plenty of picnic benches, and shaded areas that are all free to the public. Situated directly across from the Topeka Zoo, the park is surrounded by a miniature train which runs throughout the summer that is relatively inexpensive and is great for kids. There is also a carousel at the park just a short drive from the main zoo and playground parking area, as well as a public pool area with additional fees fir both. *Local Tip - There are two areas of the park, one with concrete animals based around nursery rhymes for kids to play on, and a newer series of playground structures on the other half. The older concrete structures are better suited for older children.

We were just driving through on our way to Colorado and happened to find this gem of a park. There is a zoo, pool/water park, amazing playgrounds for the kids, and a ton of space. Large mature trees for shade and very low traffic (at least when we were there). Excellent place to take the kids to get energy out on a road trip. We wish we had something like this where we live!

It was a really fun park. There was a separate area for little kids playground equipment. There is also a zoo at the park.

Very beautiful location, well worth the visit considering how diverse it is. One second you're walking through a rose garden then you discover this beauty. Also if you have children their is a decent amount of parka located all around same with a train ride that takes you all around the park.

I've been visiting this Park for 36 years and the archway in the pictures people used to be able to drive right underneath it in the center to enter the park. till they turned it into a walkway. It has a wonderful Zoo and a nice pool. It's a good place to go if you just want to go for a walk or have a picnic and or a family Gathering. And the Archway was built in 1910 that's why there's the number 19 on the left side of the arch and a 10 on the right side of the arch. It's absolutely one of my favorite parks in Topeka.
