Story

Gallery Forty-Two is a European-inspired retail art gallery located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. We offer collectors classical pieces from masters of sculpture such as Salvador Dali, Frederick Hart, Boban Ilic, Tuan Nguyen and M.L. Snowden.

In addition to sculpture, the gallery features wall art consisting of original paintings, giclee reproductions and bas relief pieces. Rooted in classical themes, Gallery Forty-Two aims to recall the figurative tradition of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

I have promoted art for over 25 years and owned 5 fine art galleries before I retired. I know great potential when I see one. Gallery 42, although relatively young, is already showing great signs of becoming one of the most prominent places to buy art in the region. There are many fantastic pieces already there and one can only expect very soon the collection to become solid from wall to wall. Definitely worth a personal visit and keeping eye on their development as new noteworthy art institution in Indianapolis.

Great gallery. No other gallery compares with the quality of figurative art they display here. Art which will stand the test of time and will be appreciated for years to come. Not a gallery which hosts short-term, temporary "interior design" positioned to be visually "pretty" or pleasant now — but will be relegated to be dismissed as insignificant and valueless later.   Incredibly beautiful interior also — no question! They do a top-notch job and honor Indianapolis with knowledge of great art!

One of the better indepedent art galleries. Went of a First Friday where we met Kurt, one the partners. He was a great host. I spent 2 hours in the gallery. Eclectic works- painting, sculptures, abstract, modern, and temporary.
