We RV camped on the bay side. Sunsets are wonderful, the staff is friendly and restrooms\showers are clean and air conditioned. You can't beat the price either, only $20 a night with water and electric hookups ( plus $5 per person access fee but DAV gets the access fee waived with proof of 60% disability or better). The park used to be a long way from convenience stores but ice and beer is about a half mile away now on either side.

I decided to visit the park as a way to access the beach for an afternoon. The gate fee was $5 per person which was worth it for easy parking, well maintained restrooms (in addition to port-a-potty options), and a short walk to the clean and well kept beach (which was not crowded, even though it was a busy day). The restrooms were not airconditioned, but that was my only negative experience. Will definitely return!

If you're going to take your RV go here. The campsites are so much more roomy than the regular RV sites. They have showers that are clean but the view is to die for because they're so close to the water. We had a killer Sunset last night. Stayed on campsite 61 and had a view of the ocean right from the back of already. Would all for that one again 60 is well 59 all of them really. Everything's done and a semicircle which makes a little more cozy unless invasive to your neighbor

Galveston State Park offers a refuge on the busy island. The park has both beach front and marshes to enjoy. Kayaking, fishing, and relaxing on the beach are all popular activities. Note: you do not need a fishing license to fish within the Park's boundries!

Only $5 per person but the beach on June 3 was not the best. A lot of seaweed. On the weekend, there's a lot of people but there is an abundance of beach space. The watter temp was 82 degrees and the ocean breeze was nice. The beaches are just not as nice as compared to Destin Florida.
