While the restaurant looked nice and clean we were not allowed to eat there. We drove from 45 minutes away to enjoy a night in Northville. My friend tried to call and make a reservation for 6 of us but was told they only take them for parties of 8 or more. So the 6 of us showed up there at 5 pm and and were told that we could not be sat, unless we had a reservation, because they were going to be so busy with their reservations in the upcoming hour or two. I asked specific questions of the young hostess and was told their next two reservations we're coming in an hour. We could've eaten and just about been on our way in that time. The restaurant was empty except a handful of customers. After the two at the host stand spouted off their many reservations for the night and how they could maybe squeeze us in between them we just left. I had to do this review to warn others that do what we did and look this place up, from out of town, as a new place to drive a distance to eat at. They did not even try to make it work. I should've taken pictures of how empty it was at the time we walked in! Very unhappy!!

Upscale - do not let the suggestion of "garage" fool you. $12 appetizers and up. Great burgers, great wine menu. No domestics on tap but several local beers on tap. Servings are not large. White table setting, indoor and outdoor seating.

Fun, funky old gas station with a great view to people watch if you are lucky enough to sit by one if the windows. At night, downtown Northville is beautiful. The first time we wanted to eat here, we made the mistake of going on a Friday night. Forget it. The place was packed. This time we went on Sunday night, and were pleased to be seated immediately. The firebird shrimp appetizer was wonderful, as were the two soups we had (pea with ham and tomato bisque). My husband said his lake perch was delectable - the best he'd ever had at a restaurant, and closest to his Mom's lake perch - very high praise. I would have rated this restaurant a 5 star, but, while my Salisbury steak was tender, it had an odd taste, along with the mushroom gravy on the mashed potatoes. (And no, it wasn't the mushrooms). The carrots were extremely bland. The prices were on the high side ($30 for perch, $27 for Salisbury steak). We had no alcoholic drinks, just one pop, and our dinner was over $100 with tip. Would go again for lunch (if we could get a table - this place is usually hopping) and just order the shrimp appetizer and soup.

Food is good and unique. I highly recommend deserts. From time to time, we find cups and glasses not to clean or table tops are sticky. If they pay more attention to details and cleanlines , this is going to be 5 star resturant.
