My wife wanted fence posts and fencing. There was no one around to assist her and the products she wanted were stored in an open pend area with no access. She saw three employees standing around instead of assisting customers. You lost a $200 sale because of the lack of customer service and support. Will bring my business to North Port from here on end.
The Home Depot on Cochran Blvd in Port Charlotte is the absolute worse store in the entire state of Florida. The help are LAZY, poor at customer service and terrible at communication. Since everything I needed would be in the Garden Department I parked near there which is a long way from the entrance. I walked up to the Garden Center and discovered it was LOCKED! I had to walk all the back to the main entrance. I was able to enter the Garden Center through the store! I went to pick up top soil, grass seed, a rake and garden hose. I arrived before 7:40 AM and was told by an employee in the Garden Center they don't open the doors or the register in that area until 8:00 AM. He directed me to the service desk where I was supposed to tell them what I wanted and pay for it there, then come back and pick up the stuff I wanted. I went to the service desk and the customer service representative had to look up each item on line and put the part numbers to it before she could ring up the charges. This took several minutes. She then called the Garden Center to let them know I would be coming back. I went to the parking lot and brought my truck around to the Garden Center to have the top soil loaded. The garden center was still Locked and it was now 7:59 AM. I had to walk back to the entrance enter the store and go to the Garden Center through the store. Once I was finally at the Garden Center THERE WAS NO BODY THERE!! I eventually found the rake and the garden hose which I took to the register and slammed down on the counter! Still NO HELP IN SITE! I whistled and yelled trying to attract the attention of an employee. NO BODY ANSWERED. By now it was 8:15 and the doors into the Garden Center were still locked so I could not put my items in the truck. I went on a search for the seed and finally ran into a clerk. I handed him the list and told him I had already found the rake and the garden hose. He then told me where I could find the seed. I said, "you mean you won't get it for me?" His reply was, "do you expect me to do everything?" I can't print my reply. I went and picked up the seed and when I returned to my truck he was loading the topsoil. Slamming bag after bag into the back of the truck! He loaded nine bags and started to leave when I informed him I paid for ten and demanded he load the last bag, which he did. I don't blame the lazy man I blame the man who runs this Home Depot he has got to be lazier than all of his uninformed employees! This individual is unfit to manage anything! I will offer my vast personal experiences in management at no charge to take over the day to day operations of this store and straighten it out. I can and will do this in 45 days! Lastly if you ever see J Hess walking into another Home Depot please call an ambulance as I have lost my mind!
My experience has been that the employees run away when they see that you need help
Went to the location on Cochran Blvd Port Charlotte toady because three items I purchase were left behind yesterday. I had a massive purchase and they were not included on the truck. So very sorry I had to trouble the young man in the garden department, Justin. Obviously he was more concerned about gossiping with the other older gentleman on the other register. So sorry to take time away from his socializing and sitting on the clock. I'm good though, went to customer service, got all my items, and loaded them without him even offering to help. He did however left me know he wouldn't watch my vehicle in the loading area. It would be there at my own risk. Perhaps I could figure out some more ways to do his job for him so he can be chatty Cathy!
No customer service in the garden center. Needed help with some shrubs and seeds do i had to do it by myself. The plants 40% of them were completely dried...nobody cares about it. It's a shame. I reported with somebody working inside. She didnt care about it. The other dark skin woman was just hanging around...WOW...
Good help from staff. Nice choice of plants
I liked the orchids and lemon trdes
