Delicious takeout that is fresh ingredients & they work hard getting up super early at 2-3 in the morning to prep to make us these delicious authentic food! Everything that we had was amazing, including the service. Very kind. Horchata was a bonus! I definitely recommend & hope that they stay around! Can’t wait to go back!
They have a great variety of Mexican street foods, decent prices for each items. Unfortunately, they were out of few ingredients for what I wanted to order. I ended up ordering the Mexican hotdog and Elote. However, for the Elote, they forgot the lime which one of the key ingredient.
Oscar RULES! Amazing family run local business. Very friendly and welcoming. Their food is over the top awesome. Fresh. Generous and most of all excellent authentic flavors. Made with love and consistently delicious. Ellensburg is lucky to have this street corner gem.
I was so excited to try this place and I was very disappointed. I wanted one tamale and each tamale was 7$ the guy who took my order made it very confusing and gave me options that had more than i needed such as 3 tamale for 20$ including a horchata. The horchata was FULL of cinnamon and did not taste like horchata at all. It tasted like rotten milk. I had to eat the tamale with a spoon because it instantly crumbled when I tried eating it with a fork. The elote was mixed with new elote and old elote and filled with valentina. Do better.
Easily the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had in years… no, decades! And I’ve eaten Mexican food all over the southwest and Mexico for many years. I never would have expected a small food truck type place to make such exceptional food! But they really need to open a restaurant, even if it’s very small. That little place doesn’t do them justice, nor attract as many people as they deserve. The food is a little more pricey than I’d expect, and the owner pushes a little too hard for you to buy more than you need. But it’s worth it if you like genuine Mexican food. But if you only like Taco Bell, you really shouldn’t bother. I like Taco Bell occasionally myself, but the food doesn’t even begin to compare.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The owners are amazingly sweet and make each customer feel special. And the food is PHENOMENAL! I've tried three different kinds of tamales, their fruit cup, elote, and corn cup and they were all delicious : Cant wait to go back and try some new stuff!
Tacos are vegetarian and delicious! We also had the churros amazing, tejuino great if you like fermented drinks, and shaved ice! Great family owned business that we enjoyed supporting. Authentic and interesting food, and since it was our first time they were nice enough to give us a free watermelon drink! Will def return whenever we pass through Ellensburg!
If you haven’t been to Genesis you’re doing it wrong. These guys are so sweet and they make amazing and super reasonably priced food! 4 delicious veggie tacos for $5!! And their tamales are incredible. This will be my regular spot for a cheap, quick, and tasty meal.
Delicious food! Even in the middle of winter the fruit tasted amazing, and the tamales were delicious. Of course we couldn’t leave without getting a churro. We always enjoy going!
Delicious tamales!!! The masa was tender and the filling was tasty! The tamales were bigger than I expected. The churros were warm and wonderful!!! Churros Genesis is definitely a convenient place to stop for amazing Mexican food - corner of Walnut and University Way.
