I have been going to Gentle Dental for years. I had Dr.D.J, he knew me and knew my fear of shots. Once he retired, I felt like all the staff before was gone. I am not a huge fan of the new densit. I am actually considering moving dentists.

I had not been to the dentist in several years because I did not have insurance. When I mentioned to the dental hygienist that that was the reason for me going to long without a cleaning she gave me a lecture about how they have people without insurance all the time who come in and pay out of pocket because they care about their oral health. She then stated "this is like a joke to me" when I told her how long I had gone. Additionally, I was crossing my arms because I was cold but she took it to mean that I was "extremely tense" and told me that she wouldn't be able to do anything for me if I couldn't calm down. I wasn't sure what to say back to her. I said, "I'm not sure what to tell you. I'm fine. I'm doing my best..." During the cleaning, I guess my mouth kept starting to shut (I didn't mean to, I was consciously trying to keep it open as best I could) but she stated in a snotty tone: "I have lost track of how many times I've asked you to open your mouth." Overall, she made me feel extremely uncomfortable and threatened. I think that her rudeness to me was completely uncalled for. I was calm and polite the entire time. Regardless of her feelings about my personal choices (try paying out of pocket for dental care when you are going to school and have a small child), she needs to remain objective if she is going to work in the medical field. 
Furthermore, the dentist decided to lecture me during my filling about Americans and how if they can't pay for dental care they think they don't need it (?). When I felt pain during the filling, he gave me another lecture about how I needed to think about what I'm feeling and decide if it is really pain or just anxiety. Basically, he thought it was all in my head... Eventually I just decided to breathe through the pain and wait for it to be over. 
I don't think I will ever come back here. I chose this place because it said "Gentle Dental" not "Rude and Condescending Dental".

I'm almost afraid of giving such a good review, because I don't want this place to become too busy.  But, they deserve it.

Due to living in Lynnwood and working in downtown Seattle, it became difficult for my wife and I to see my previous dentists in Northgate.  So, when we noticed that Gentle Dental was open on Saturdays, so we decided to give them a chance.

We were not only impressed by the ease it was to schedule a Saturday appointment, but also by the friendliness of the staff.  Dr. DJ has to be one of the hardest working dentists on Saturdays.  But, no matter how busy he is, he always has a good attitude.
