Use to be a good place to play basketball or play @ the playground with your kids.. but after 2 recent shootings here 1 being a childhood friend of mine who lost his life, I would only take my son now during the day with plenty of people there or not at all.

Shaded park and  clean.   Has a community center,  and both toddler and kids play area

 WARNING... MURDER PARK!!!  This is a unsafe park.    Two shootings, that resulted in two homicide in  six months. There has been five total shootings at Gerdes, in the last two years. Law abiding residents, that live around this park, are in fear. This park is primarily inhibited by dope smoking gangbangers with guns, homeless drunks and Illegally aliens.   If you do not believe my post regarding the shootings and murders at Gerders Park, just Google "Gerdes park Norwalk shooting". It is all there.  This park is a Hellhole.

Excellent after school programs for kids of all ages. Great summer programs including free lunch. Safe envornment.
