Great place to get away from the crowds around Cooperstown. Close enough to make a day trip there as well. Friendly, helpful staff. Firewood is usually dry and bundles are sized well for the price. Beach is nice and has lots of facilities for cooking out as well as a small playground for the kids, changing rooms, and a store. Beach parking is up a decent sized hill but there is a drop-off/pick-up location at the bottom.

Nice, large State Park with plenty of tent and RV camping spots. The waterfront swimming area and ample trails will keep the family occupied for a weekend getaway. The park offers clean and convenient washrooms nearby to the camping sites as well for those that want to "rough it" a little bit less.

The lake is often cold but there is a large swimming area that includes a floating dock for diving. Concession stand has much of what you might need for a picnic day at the beach. Many grills, disabled parking lot, small Civilian Conservation Corps museum, boat rental, and fishing areas. The trail system is amazing and beautiful.

I like it that is family friendly. They provide  parking permit for special needs user near beach area. You can easily fall in love with the park.

Beautiful park. There is a nice beach , kayaking and fishing. They have bbq's and picnic tables.
