If you're looking for a good neighborhood bar, Gio's is the spot! They've got a good atmosphere, good outdoor seating, trivia nights, solid food, and a great local beer selection. The BBQ and the Buffalo Chicken Wrap are the best items on the menu by far! If you're looking for a spot to meet up with friends or just chill at the bar and watch TV, look no further. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome here, especially in the patio seating! Even dogs are welcome.
I love this cozy neighborhood bar and grill. My first dinning experience here was pure chance. I was driving home after a late client meeting and we were starving and noticed a parking space available right across from Gios so we parked and went in. We weren't expecting much so we ordered the evening specials which was the gio burger and were pleasantly surprised by the bang for the buck. It's not fine dining, not that you would expect it to be. It's a pleasant atmosphere, quick, affordable, and tasty dining experience. We've been back 4 more times and had the same good experience each trip.
Really great BBQ, but portion size was way too small. New ownership hopefully will change this. Has potential to be a great restaurant. For the cost, the portion size was ridiculous but tasted amazing.Food: 5/5
Went for a Friday dinner. It was very chill, local bar atmosphere. People who know the bartender like feel. The food was delicious! Loved the pulled pork bbq burger.
Gios has been my favorite bar for years and has some special memories tied to it. And Jamie is hands down my most favorite bar tender in Ravenswood. He made my time there so special and efficient! I will forever be grateful! Thank you Jamie!Food: 5/5
I'm sorry I stopped in. The bartender was "polite", but the glares from the few patrons who were there made me so uncomfortable. I was going to stay for a drink even though we missed the kitchen, but I felt like I was on the wrong side of the tracks so I didn't. Racism is so stupid.Atmosphere: 1/5
Hey sorry Gio, Google was tweaking and I gave you three stars with an unrelated review. I've never been here but im sure it's great.Food: 5/5
I echo the last female reviewer Meg Casey. Gio's is such a small bar that it's entire existence hinges in the personality of the bartender. I wish more bartenders understood that every person who walks in the door has money to spend. Whether you'd hang with them IRL should be irrelevant. Whether you like them or think they're weird or whatever issue you've got with that person, you should tell yourself that person has money to spend so "maybe" I should be nice to them! But instead what happens is that these bartenders treat their bar as they would a clique in high school. If they like you, you're IN, and if they don't, you're OUT. Jaime has done this to me where he decided he didn't like me, so I stopped going in and spending my money because of how unwelcome he's made me feel. Gios is my neighborhood bar. It's on my block. I have been going here for 3 years. But when Jaime got hired, he decided he didn't like me, and made it clear that I wasn't welcome when he worked so I stopped going. I was going here for a full year before Jaime got hired, and he took my bar away from me. And this new male bartender with the gotee is definitely a woman hating misogynist. Y'all bartenders need to be nice to each and every customer that comes in. We have money to burn. I make 6 figures personally as a female, and would gladly drop thousands in here if y'all were nice to me. But you are not. So I've taken my business to Platform 47. This new bar is amazing and they are NICE to their customers. GEE. A unique concept!
Kind of divey. Nice atmosphere, has karaoke and trivia. Food is pretty overpriced and underwhelming, drinks are good.Food: 3/5
The woman hating man/manager behind the bar needs to go. This is a great little neighborhood establishment with great bar food and service from the women… but if you happen to BE a woman and the man with awful haircut and nasty goatee is there.. RUN. For your own sake… When he’s not there it is so friendly and chill. However this man is a plague on the business and it’s super unfortunate. I’ve stopped recommending it to people. Especially my girlfriends.
