Great hockey experience. We've gone 3 times. Parking is alittle crazy and very scattered, food prices seem reasonable. My only issue is that there are no bathrooms on the upper level. I have a knee injury and to walk all the way up from your seats, to walk down 20 stairs to the bathroom and repeat on your way back to year seats. Tough for people with leg issues.

This place has gone downhill since the new owners took over. We went to the pre season night of the hockey game. Security at all doors. Checking bags ect.. They checked my purse. I had a water bottle and rolls and some candy in my purse. They won’t let you bring any of that in anymore. They throw it out on you. The candy was for my 5 year old and the lady took it and said we can’t have it in there (all it was was some air heads.) So she made my 5 year old cry hysterically. This place is a joke now. Can’t bring in any candy? Really? So then after about 10 mins of him crying she finally gave it back to him. So we go in get seats and there are 2 security people at each letter staring at you. The civic center used to be a good place before it was cool insuring arena. Won’t be back. Not even for hockey that I love to watch!!!

The place is looking old & it's not always clean. Often toilets are out of order. This center should have more activity offered. Once the Red Wings left, the flea markets got smaller & the shows & artists decreased, I lost interest. Pricing isn't competitive. Parking hasn't improved. They don't offer much of a variety of goods. Staff is efficient & friendly.

I was trying to get ahold of my ilst person who had my ticket and the civil center would not help me or page the person who had my ticket an my ride home so I had to walk 11 miles in the dark to get home

This is a sports arena.  Great for seeing hockey, basketball and the like.   Do NOT go here for a concert!  The acoustics are the worst I've ever heard!
