The location was in Edmond. They actually installed the shelter. Everything as far as that part went great. I thought I was dealing with experts and was very happy with everything. They seemed very knowledgeable. The shelter was installed about 2 years ago. The reason for the bad recommendation is what came after. This one had a branch in Edmond and I went in several times to make sure this was the best place to purchase my shelter. They were recommended on Angie's list. My yard is a little different than most and where I wanted my shelter they were unable to do because of various reasons. They then told me of two locations in the yard that they could install at. The location by the fence they said they could do but did not recommend because it was so close to the street and I have a low chain link fence and said people would be jumping in my shelter and didn't recommend that location. They then said here is the area that is going to be the best. It is in between my shed and the second layer of my yard. They said this was the best option. I am not an expert so that's why I hired the experts. I have been trying to contact GFS for a while and found out the Edmond location (the only location that I knew of) went out of business. I have at least a 25 year warranty on this shelter. I originally tried to contact them because the board they cut was wobbly. I then noticed water was in my shelter and there was mold growing on the carpet they installed. I started googling to see if there may be another location and I found this location (on East Reno) and made contact. They told me on several different occasions they were going to send Jesus out to take a look at it. It took me calling everyday for more than a week to get Jesus out there. They finally set an appointment for Thursday. I made arrangements so Jesus could come take a look. He didn't show nor did I receive a phone call. I had to call once again and finally they were able to get Jesus out to my home. He got there and then called me telling me that because the shelter is in a low point water was getting in from across the top where the door is. He said the shelter never should have been placed in that location. I explained that it needed to be fixed and he said the warranty would not cover it but he could do it on the side for about $500. I was not the person that said this spot is where the shelter needs to go. I asked Jesus to simply report his findings to GFS and have them call me with what they willing to do to get this fixed. I never received a call. I had to call again. GFS won't fix this because the owner whom did not speak to me told the receptionist that he would never make a recommendation on where the shelter needed to go and that they could fix it for $500. ???? Well I know I had the conversation with the person that I worked with on my shelter and what he recommended and told me. So now I am left with an unsafe shelter or I am out money to pour more concrete around the area to keep the water from coming in. I will not pay them anymore money after everything. Now I am left to go somewhere else and hire someone to get this taken care of for me. I would never recommend this company to put in shelters and surely wouldn't want them to "honor" your warranty. Jesus told me from the get go that they wouldn't fix this for me under warranty and then told me as a homeowner I should have made a better decision. Last I checked if I was an expert I would have hired a friend who does concrete and paid less for a shelter. So because I wasn't an expert on location and shelters I am having to fork out more money to have something fixed that should be warrantied because I did not set that location, they did. All in all terrible communication. This place doesn't want to call you back and just avoid a warranty situation. I would say go somewhere that has had a lot of experience in shelters and have great reviews for not only the installation but for the warranty process as well.
