I'm a current member of over a year. I never had any bad experiences until I tried to cancel my membership today. I was given a number that asked me to take a survey about vacations and when I called Golds back to explain this.. some guy (I'm guessing Marc from the other reviews) basically told me "I'm a lair, that's the number, and he doesn't know what to tell me." TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

A man named Jay, much more level headed and customer service oriented called me back and smoothed it out. I wouldn't recommend this gym, but if you're a dumb enough to sign up anyway, ask for Jay.

Pros..good location, big and has just about anything you'll need

Cons..40 a month + at least 1yr commitment, no guests, rarely has the AC or fans on so it gets thick in there, music is far too loud, closes early Fri-Sun. Oh and terrible customer service.

New management made a huge difference! The gym is so much nicer and clean.  Polite, friendly staff.  The guy who owned it before was a big jerk.  What a difference.

If I could give it less I would, objectively it looks great, brand new equipment, huge space two floors. But for someone like me who is a huge gym head, they don't even have dumbbells pass the 100lb ones. 
Also they say they open at 445am, I've been standing there at 445am and nobody would show up to open till 530am. I honestly dont think its worth the cost of 40/month, you cant even bring a guest.
But lastly we get to Mark the manager the most unprofessional, aggressive, disrespectful manager. He will harass you until you sign up, and if you don't ,he will attempt to ban you from thr gym.
He told a friend that I brought with me "what are you doing here, you shouldn't be here" after my friend postpone signing up 

Overall find a better gym, there are a whole bunch of other gyms that are the same quality maybe even better

Gym is clean and tons of new equipment.  However, reading other reviews, I saw some of the same issues I had in regards to reps in membership.  Prices are kept a secret, could not access them online and when I went in, girl at front desk told me I would have to come back to meet with membership.  Once I was finally able to meet, sat down and felt like I was talking to a car salesman.  Guy from membership offered $40/month, but had to sign a 2 year contract, which I was not willing to do.  I called back and offered $40/month and a 1 year contract, and person from membership said "no" and hung up on me.  I currently go to Tewksbury Sports Club and pay $25 month.  To me, the only perk of going to Gold's is it's a mile closer to my house, but not worth an extra $15 dollars a month/$180 a year.  I would love to know what they are charging others and why prices are kept such a secret.
