5/31/22. I use to leave Manhattan to come buy food from this establishment. It was convenient as far as transportation goes. Om Today was my second time purchasing a meal from This establishment after the pandemic. It looks like the food has gone south. I purchased curry chicken and it was under cooked, over cooked and bland. The plantains were horrible and old. The rice and peas was burnt and you could taste it. I ended up throwing my food in the garbage because I refuse to force myself to eat it !!!!! Good money down the drain. I also think I saw a gentleman with a bike helmet serving himself food from the food which is served to customers. That was a major turn off. I think I am done! I have seen and tasted enough to completely cut ties with this establishment. Please find a better cook cause whomever is currently cooking is a horrible chef. Long gone are the days I could eat a cup of soup from this establishment and melt the gas in my belly again. Please please please do better. Your food use to hit hard....... 2 years ago Hit or miss . They must of changed the cook because the food lacks flavor. The soup is always full of grease. They are no longer putting corn in the soup.just the basic potato and the cheapest part of the chicken depending on who is serving you.
Let's just say I'll be cooking my own food at home now. Serve people food how you would like to have your food served. I've been purchasing food for me and bringing festival patties to my job for 6 years before the pandemic. I never had a problem.
Would be less than one star if possible. Went to get a new Beyond patty advertised to be at all locations only to be told that they don't always make them because they don't sell. Had they answered the phone line that exists on their website instead of the small paper on the cash register, I would have known that and not wasted my entire lunchtime attempting to get something that this particular franchise is choosing not to make.
Came in here because I heard they had some vegan options, and saw beyond meat on the window. Unfortunately they didn't have it in stock, but they said they had spinach patties and veggie patties. They said the crust is vegan. The spinach was very good, the crust seemed sort of like a healthier whole wheat version, but not bad at all. Would have been nice to see the patties labelled as vegan clearly. I couldn't find any listing or menu of the patties above the counter, a little confusing.
The food is fine. The food is not the problem at all. The customer service at this location is HORRIBLE. There is literally only one friendly employee working here the manager is friendly as well. The workers at this Golden Crust are very easily annoyed and aren't afraid to show it. They laugh and talk amongst each other but give attitude to the customers. Today my order was mixed up with another customer's order simply because the man was too lazy to open my tray after he fixed it to make sure that it was actually my order. The cashiers do not pay attention and will go off and do other tasks while you're waiting to be rung up and they don't ever apologize or excuse themselves. Disgusting customer service. This location should hire a completely new staff and train them how to interact with and take care of their customers.
I asked for soup and they served me cold soup. When I returned to the store they apologized and told me that they would warm up another bowl of soup. When they gave me that bowl of soup it was lukewarm and to to make matters worst it was not fresh. The soup tasted like something that might have been cooked if not a few days prior. As if they might have had the soup in the freezer and removed it to be warmed and served. The dumplings were soggy, the other stuff in it was disgusting. I had to throw it out. How do serve the public food that was cooked days ago. The audacity. This was so disappointing. Shame on them. I have had friends who have had bad experiences as well. You cannot serve the public food that was prepared and stored in the freezer or refrigerator from days ago. Most of us know the difference when the food isn't fresh. Shame shame shame.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is one manager that is very nice, actually 2 both men. Also one or 2 cashiers. But for the most part, they are very nasty for no reason at all! The soup is NEVER ready on time! I have to double check that I have utensils & napkins. They really need a staff overhaul at this location. The food, for the most part is delicious. More registers are necessary to handle the lunch time crowd. And the staff REALLY needs an attitude adjustment. They whisper amongst each other about the customers. Sometimes, they even PURPOSELY skip customers that they do not like. I have noticed a drop in customers lately & if this keeps up, they will continue to lose business!!
This place has horrible customer service. I ask the waiter who honestly looked like she didn’t want to work took extra time with the customer in front of me to keep packing her bag with the same things to waste more time. I ask for saltfish by itself cause I’m not a fan of bakes or whatever else she was offering and she told me I would have to pay full price of a bake and saltfish for just saltfish. Her attitude was nasty and this is the second time I’ve received this kind of treatment from this organization. I will not be buying food here again and I hope y’all get better employees maybe ones that actually like their job
