Nice spot. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good, ramen hit the spot and appetizers were tasty. The restaurant is a bit small but if you don’t feel like cooking and have a craving for ramen, Good Hope Dumpling and Ramen is the place to go.
A true Asian gem right in Norwalk that you would normally only find in flushing Queens or while traveling in Asia. We scored a table nice and early on a chilly Sunday afternoon and didn't really know what to expect. My Wife & I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to China & Japan eating our way as we navigated into the Hokkaido district of Japan to snowboard. We ordered quite a few dishes for starters we tried the Dan Dan noodles, while not the typical super spicy burn your taste buds off these noodles were so delicious & flavorful apparently these noodles are made w sesame seeds as the owners are considerate of those w peanut allergies they were scrumptious. We also had the spring rolls with chili dipping sauce they were super tasty and perfectly cooked. The pork dumplings with szechuan chili sauce were not super spicy they were delicious, fresh and tasty. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen which really brought me back to the Ramen I've eaten so much of while on various trips to snowboard in the northern region of Japan it was soooo good. My Wife had the braised beef fan. It was basically beef in a perfectly made, brown gravy with potatoes, rice and vegetables. We couldn't finish it so we took some home just like every thing else it was delicious. We absolutely had to try the fried buns for desert and we were glad we did it was so good, the little buns were Puffy, hot and soft to bite into with the perfect dipping sauce that wasn't too sweet. They were like little tasty hot edible pillows made with love. Do yourself a favor and go try this place out the owners were so sweet to us they were attentive, polite and you could really tell they cared about the customer we talked about food, whisky, and travel. We know they'll be days where it's gonna be hard to get a table because everything is so amazing and more importantly the owners truly rock and really deserve success.
The food tasted okay but the portions for the price charged left a bit to be desired. For $14 we got the below dandan noodles which filled less than half of the bowl. Pork dumplings were okay but also very tiny portions. Value for money was the clincher here, won’t likely return
Orient cannot taste better! A hidden paradise of the must exquisite food with the power to bring the far East right in front of your lips. Added to this, the hostess will make you feel just like home. Cozy, sophisticated, and yet quite traditional. This place brings you love and nourishment at the same time. I dare to say no place in China Town that I know can beat Good Hope, and if you don't believe me, try it and proof me wrong. Please come and enjoy all these wonders as I do!
Stumbled upon this spot driving from Massachusetts to DC and so glad we did!! The tonkotsu ramen was so good added a bit of salt because of preference and the hand fried pork dumplings were delish! Also 5 more stars for the tiny helper ! I live a good family restaurant!
Such a great place! We have lived in Asia and can attest to the authenticity and quality of the food here. And they’re very kind and nice! We had my son’s birthday celebration here he’s the dumpling king and she presented him with a beautiful box of chop sticks! Highly recommended.
This place was absolutely amazing. The good hope ramen and the pork dumplings were amazing. Staff is very friendly and the service the lovely! They have also given us little gifts!
So tasty and super friendly staff! I always make sure to come here when i'm in Norwalk. The beijing chicken bao is my favorite!
This little restaurant packs a great punch when it comes to food. It reminds us of Chinatown in NYC it's that good. The staff is so friendly and sweet and you can tell it's a local favorite. We can't wait to visit again as it has easily become a family favorite of ours.
New favorite Chinese place! Soup dumplings and chili oil dumplings are fantastic. Chili oil has the perfect amount of mala numbing spice! Dan Dan mien was also delicious and has great sesame flavor. Chicken wings could have been crispier but can't wait to try their pan fried dumplings sheng jian bao next time!
