Great Harvest Bread Co. in Cookeville Tn bakes from-scratch bread and sweets. Everything is made on site every day using only real food ingredients. This review is tricky because I was very excited to be here and to experience this restaurant, but I can't give them a high rating. My mother and I were traveling for the Solar Eclipse and we were so tired and hungry. We came here around 9am and thought it would be the perfect place to relax and eat before hitting the road again. The shop was small and clean, but the servers/cashiers weren't all that friendly. They offered other customers samples of various breads and butters, but not me and my mother. We spent over $50 on sandwiches, breads, cookies, soups... almost 1 of everything on the menu, and when we asked for 2 glasses of water, we were charged for them! I understand needing to balance revenue and expenses, but when you are spending a good amount of money somewhere, a small glass of water should be a courtesy. I was really shocked. I even said something and he said he couldn't comp the water. Unreal. I also think it's unhealthy to serve hot soup in styrofoam. It's a shame a really cool business had to treat new customers this poorly.

I had no idea this place even existed until the day of the eclipse.....they catered lunch for our office. Incredible!!! Went today on my own and was so impressed. The food is amazing, and the staff is fabulous!!! This will most definitely be a regular lunch spot for me!!!

My family of five stopped in for lunch and to pickup bread: great food and experience.  Great sandwiches, soups, desserts, and bread (the 3 loaves of bread we brought home).  Everything is full of flavor and well worth the price.  The family run business treats you like family and takes very good care of you.
