Experience pays! Ken, thank you so much for insight and suggestions regarding our recent carpeting purchase. We had the vinal planks installed. I was told it would be a 2 day job. I expected at least a 2 man crew, but the second man showed up late and stayed for an house or so. My installer did everything himself and did a great job. I felt sorry for him cause he had to do all the grunt work like moving furniture, boxes of flooring, all the prep work and garbage. He worked at a steady pase and took good care of what he was doing, certainly not his first time. The finish work was impressive. The toe molding he used was mitered at ever corner and caped at every end. Something I would expect to see on cabinets or detailed finish work. Even the smallest piece of molding was cut to fit and capped. Nicely done. Now for the not so good. He was by himself! The first day he was here until after 6 pm on a Sunday. The next he was here until after 8 pm and did not finish. He had to skip the next day for another job and showed up at 6 the day after and again did not leave until after almost 9 pm. I don't feel he did a his best at cleaning and whipping down the floor but at 9pm who cared. We moved a lot of furniture out before he started and we move it all back after the job was done, had we not done a lot of the moving he would have been ther even longer. The estimating of how long a job will take should be a little closer to what it really takes. That was about the only problem I had with the job. We had a pretty good idea of what kind of look we were going for in our search for something to replace our 20-year-old ceramic tile and laminate flooring. We'd searched high and low and then were fortunate enough to find out about Great Southeast Flooring America. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Jo. She asked what we had in mind. We had decided that we wanted something in a luxury vinyl plank flooring with a rustic whitewashed look that would really convey the feel of being in a beach cottage . Jo took us to the area of the store where all of the luxury vinyl plank flooring samples were. We were "floored" (pun intended) by the huge selection that was available. Jo worked with us to narrow down our best options until we finally decided upon a luxury vinyl plank flooring by Mannington called Adura Max Seaport Surf. We really appreciated the large size of the samples. They really give you a lot better idea of the way the flooring would look in your home vs. the typical 4"x4" samples at the big box stores. After making our final decision, we set up an appointment with Jo to come to our home to give us an estimate. That was another wonderful experience. It was so much fun having Jo in our home. She did a very thorough job and went through all the options available to us for trim, molding, etc. to go along with our new flooring. We appreciated the fact that Jo wasn't "all business". We had a fun time chatting with her over a cup of coffee or two as she clearly outlined the final steps we needed to go through. We arranged for the installation date. Jo said it would take 4 days, which it did - these folks really know their stuff. The much anticipated day arrived, and Ken and Robert showed up right on time. We'd pictured a crew of 4 or 5 guys but quickly realized that wasn't necessary. These guys were like a well-oiled machine. They spent most of the first 2 days jackhammering up the existing tile floors and taking up the existing laminate. Once that was done, they began laying our new flooring. The final result far exceeded our wildest expectations! We can't say enough good things about Ken and Robert. Not only were they extremely hard-working and very skilled at their job, but they were so much fun to talk and joke around with. I know it sounds crazy, but we actually started to look forward to seeing them at our front door every morning, always right on time. They felt almost like family after a couple of days. After the installation was complete, and before they left, they explained in detail how we should care for our new flooring. It was really tough saying goodbye to them for the last time. We highly recommend Great Southeast Flooring America, and we are looking forward to doing business with them again in the future. We can promise you that you will not be disappointed. Definitely ask if Ken and Robert can do your installation. They moved all our furniture and disconnected and moved all our appliances, including our washer and dryer. Once finished, they cleaned our new floors, dusted and moved all the furniture back into place, and reconnected all our appliances. They did an absolutely beautiful job, paying great attention to detail. It's hard to find guys like that anymore.

FlooringAmerica installed tile flooring on my porch approximately a year ago. Now my over ten year old carpet was in serious need of replacement, I had always wanted hardwood floors, and Pat T. at FlooringAmerica guided me not just in this selection but so many others(what colors to paint my walls, for example). So this was our second collaboration! She visited my home multiple times for measuring and viewing wood flooring examples, once when I went into the store to consult with her she told me to bring a drawer from my china cabinet so that we could closely match the wood flooring to it, I would have never thought of that! The big day arrived and Kyle and Chris went to work, efficient and personable. Each day more of the floor unfolded before my eyes and I could not have been happier. I told them I thought they were true artisans! Pat T. called several times for progress reports. With her I felt like I didn’t just get expertise in flooring, but also interior design. I have never felt better cared for. And Kyle and Chris, Gidget misses both of you and sends a big smile!

My wife and i were quoted $1.99 a sqft for a certain tile. Came back to the store two weeks later and the salesman said I'm sorry we can't do that offer that i wrote down on a business card for you. My Manager won't allow it. I asked to talk to the Manager to come out to speak to us and asked why he would not honor the offer. He said take it or leave it. I said i will take it but did add that you may want to work on your customer service skills and he told me he changed his mind and that he did not want to do business with me. 1) be polite to customers. 2)honor what you say. even if it's a margin hit. 3) work on your customer services skill.
