I moved to Charlotte a year ago and truthfully I haven’t tried much Chinese food because a lot of people told me it’s nothing near as good as New York’s Chinatown. I finally find found something that came pretty close. Really enjoyed Great Wall of China South in Charlotte, North Carolina. The service was really spectacular and the food was fantastic. The hot and sour soup was a little bland but I had the fantasy shrimp which is the same dish I had in New York called Grand Marnier shrimp. I also had cold sesame noodles and the noodles had amazing texture and the sauce was a perfect consistency. My friend had the trio with garlic sauce and that tasted really good as well. Will definitely go back.

Always good service and food. My goto is the crispy scallops. The sauce is oh so good and the scallops so juicy. The string beans is a wonderful side dish along with the crispy tofu. Overall every choice is a good one.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes

I have been searching for good Chinese food at a reasonable price and have been wanting to try this place for a long time. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings, sesame chicken, and kung Pao chicken. The dumplings were tasty and had a good amount of filling. The sauce of the Kung Pao chicken was basic and salty of soy sauce but not "flavorful" if that makes sense. The sesame chicken was slightly crispy and not drowning in sauce a good thing. The flavor was good but it was slightly too sweet for my taste. The service was excellent! I may come back to try other dishes.

The food here is overpriced and quality is terrible. The chicken wings were not plucked correctly I personally don’t want feathers on my chicken. There are other Chinese restaurants around that area that are more reasonably priced and better quality than this.

The best sesame chicken around!! The servers are like family by this point, we've been coming for years and each time we pick up where we left off. So kind and thoughtful, and the food / tea is incredible! Their willingness to listen to occasional criticism or critiques and make adaptations to better the food and business shows an amazing sense of humility and love for the area they are serving. So much more than just a restaurant!!

Food is delicious and always fresh.  I have been ordering from the Great Wall of China for 5 + years.  They are always professional and prompt.  Great take out! My favorite Chinese place in Charlotte! The food is ALWAYS good and they have amazing hospitality. As long as I’m in the area I’ll be their happy customer. Looking forward to many many more weekly visits!

Tasty, spicy, and pleasant - lemme tell you all about Great Wall’s attempt at authentic Chinese food. With a modern, cozy, typical Chinese-esque atmosphere, this restaurant has it down pat to providing the complete package. We ordered Hong Kong Style Shrimp Ho Fun, Twice Cooked Pork, and Mapo Tofu. The Ho Fun was flavorful and light with a little too much oil, but nonetheless was good. The Twice Cooked Pork, fatty and decadent, was complemented with crisp onions and bell peppers - this dish was pretty good overall. The Mapo Tofu was soft with uplifting aromas of ground pork and scattered spices. All of the food similarly served the same taste buds of mine, fulfilling my spicy craving. Spicy goodness  In addition, our server was wonderful, engaging, and attentive making extra strides to continually fill our water and asked us if we need assistance. The food here is excellent and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend the Shrimp Ho Fun, House Special Fried Rice, and Seafood Delight - some items I’ve eaten before. Food was ok. I had a party of 10, most of them didn’t enjoy the food. Very slow service, which we understood since it seemed they were understaffed and our poor waitress was running around taking care of other tables too and was hard to get his attention to get at least our glasses of water refilled. Very rude hostess trying to charge for a drink we didn’t order despite we explained her that was a mistake corroborated by the same waitress and assuming someone else from my party might ordered the drink. We definitely won’t come back and won’t recommended this place to anyone else.

I have order my food more then 2 times and yet they kept sending me the wrong food. Not pepper steak. First time I’ve had this problem.
