Great store to get lost in and the owner is super friendly. They have a really awesome science fiction section too.

Really fantastic inventory! The local section is particularly top notch. It's clean, and snug though well-organized, with lots of fun knick-knacks around. The owner/staff also writes fun notes under the price, like "great photos!" or "so good!" The woman working the front desk was very pleasant. I really wish I had been able to spend more time there, and if I ever make it back to Portland this is definitely my first stop.

I love this bookstore! It was the first place I went to when I arrived in Portland. The owner is so knowledgeable, friendly and, articulate, and the selection and range of new and antique/used books is fantastic. I never leave empty-handed!

My favorite bookstore on the globe. Really! Knowledgeable, kind, great inventory, highly funky...the list goes on. And better yet, it just keeps getting better every year!
